I don't know if it's true. I'm reading some posts on reddit and someone is claiming that the verified users for TROS on RT are suspect.

It seems one of them has not been active for 12 years and another one was created today, while another one wasn't active for 1 year. Not sure if it's true, I'm just reading it...

Users here find it bewildering that there are people promoting everything Disney on social media in their free time in order to get tagged by Disney as "micro-influences" and get $10 discount for a bottle of water next trip to Disneyland.

Can't really trust that. It's bound to be review bombed.

But the verified score is the easiest to rig, you can do it on a budget of a few thousands dollars. Plus it doesn't take anyone into account except Americans who used fandango. imdb score and unverified is way better representation of the mood for the film

This is always just a funny argument to me.  It is arguing that you want these movies to be MORE similar.  So instead of killing him when you least expect it, you want him killed in the third movie, just like what happened to the Emperor?

Killing him opened them up to go anywhere and do anything.  Maybe that isn't a big hook for you, but I think that was absolutely the smartest choice and it was a huge surprise to me.

The only thing TLJ left the trilogy to end with is tiny Rebellion vs Empire,  Rey against Kylo after she's already beaten him twice, and all the the useless side characters Rian didn't know what to do with. Maybe for some people Rey vs Kylo conflict/romantic overtones would be enough but obviously the people who made the decisions didn't think so.

From what we’ve heard about George’s treatments for 7-9, they sound very in the weeds about the mechanical workings of the force. It would have been very George Lucas, for better and for worse.

I think a lot of disney friendly publications are taking what little he said about his sequel ideas out of context, to make it seem like he would make some abomination and we should be happy for getting JJ and RJ.

From what context there is the movies wouldn't be about force biology or osmosis jones, there would be something like those clone wars episode where Yoda meets the ghost of Qui Gon and the five priestesses. So a lot more spiritual than mechanical

  5. JJ had the best chance to turn Star Wars into marvel status, which is mass appeal in all markets. And all of the markets gave it a chance, the marketing push by Disney was huge. But it didn't stick, probably because he just made an okish movie that doesn't work as well without the nostalgia factor missing from these markets. And Lucasfilm doubled down on that tactic with Rogue One and the chance just kept getting smaller and smaller, to where i think It's impossible for the SW brand to take off there now. It's not like DC universe when they can just reboot with another actor and different take on the character. It's one continuous thing. And it seems to be done.

I would put money whatever George planned to do would have more appeal in China/India/Latin America because it wouldn't be a remake of  a 40 year old movie and trying to imitate its aesthetics.

  6. Don't follow the economy that closely but I had some small savings and a friend told me it's a good idea to buy gold because it's a safe haven in an unpredictable and weak economy,  that was about a year ago and gold was $1200, now it's $1500. So for me it not only worked as a safe haven but made money of it too. And apparently it still has ways to go

Huh? It's not like Joker panned there. And, average for all critics is just under 7.5... It's not like this a Venom situation where the movie was completely panned there and then broke out.

It is panned though, it's 68% all critics and 44% top critics, if you were to trust RT it's a completely unremarkable movie you could just skip which is anything but.

Truth is most of these critics on RT are part of the same hugbox as most of these journalist that can't handle 8 hours without writing another hot take on Joker. It's obvious its affecting their reviews.

People laugh at IMDB TOP 250 but RT proudly displays Black Panther as the number one movie of all time, I don't think that system is more trustworthy.

James Gunn Is Sad That Martin Scorsese Is “Judging” Marvel Films Without Seeing Them

“Martin Scorsese is one of my 5 favorite living filmmakers,” tweeted Gunn. “I was outraged when people picketed ‘The Last Temptation of Christ’ without having seen the film. I’m saddened that he’s now judging my films in the same way.”
