Aquaman beating Black Panther is likely but it's not a lock yet, let's see next weekends numbers to see if it'll happen and by how much it will beat it.

According to Mojo, Black Panther had made R$97m at the end of the 4 week in Brazil, Aquaman  R$110m in the same period.

    Mojo numbers are correct.

Aquaman beats Wonder Woman in local currency
    t93FmOb.gif

And  will beat Black Panther (R$120.8m) and become the biggest solo superhero movie in Brazil, needs only R$10m for that and made $12.4m this weekend (and $15.4m last weekend , strong legs) I think Aquaman will end up around R$130m.

Dragon ball super Brolly = 412k of tickets sold on OW,  more than the entire run of DB Resurrection F.

If estimates hold, $300M-325M for Aquaman.

If Deadline's estimates are confirmed,  no way that Aquaman makes less than $320m domestic, AQ will be only  $2m behind Suicide Squad after  3 weekend (SS ended with $325m) and AQ comes from a much stronger third weekend (AQ $31 vs $20.8m SS).

Tomorrow opens Dragon Ball Super Broly.

Dragon Ball isn't as big in Brasil relatively speaking as in the Spanish speaking countries but should still do significant numbers.

    R$1,6m OD (U$0,43m), or 106k tickets sold.

Biggest opening day for a DB franchise movie in Brazil and biggest opening day for a Japanese movie in Brazil.

Alita, Pikachu, and Terminator in the top 10 WW for 2019? I mean-everyone's entitle to their own opinion BUT there does come a point where things are just silly and foolish if meant to be serious. BUT at least the top 5, #8 and #10 are reasonable. Btw, there are 11 on that list.

Pikachu trailer had a strong buzz here in Brazil and I think  in all Latin America too,  chance of Detective Pikachu being top 10 worldwide in 2019 is big,  and also...

They'll most likely end up with three MCU movies in 2020 alone. And I'm willing to bet that a completely rebooted MCU X-Men movie opens to 150 million, possibly 200. Hell, they could start slowly introducing characters - Storm in BP2, reboot FF and sprinkle some bits on the X-Men there and so on and so forth, an AVX movie would open to IW numbers.

I would personally want them to keep the X-Men semi-detached for starters (whether that's parallel universe and then cross them into the main one, or whatever), but they will be integrated into the MCU somehow. Once done, I think you'll be surprised - the X-Men movies have not gotten anywhere near their ceilings, and you are underestimating their potential as part of the MCU.

I believe more in F4,  but let's go back to "China BO thread".

Oh well, I was a bit off, unless it was for the local currency?

Anyway good for Aquaman, a leggy one!

They are Mojo data in US dollar.

And  Last Jedi also had a big drop on Christmas weekend, but not on NY weekend.

    Dec. 22–24 1 $2,153,392 -70.0%
    Dec. 29–31 3 $1,619,083 -24.8%

I saw the numbers of Aquaman from last Friday (21 december)  on BO Pro.

"Brazil (2nd w/e): $1.0m, ranking #1 with a good hold of -40% and continuing to dominate with a 74% share of the Top 5 films. Cume to date: $14.2m."

    And yesterday's  numbers here.

Curious to see the decrease for movies this week compared to last week, it was particularly brutal for Rogue One back then (-86% if I remember well).

    Rogue One according to Mojo.

    BRAZIL Weekend Box Office

    Dec. 23–25 3 $1,433,891 -72.2%
    Dec. 30–Jan. 1 2 $1,136,584 -20.7%

It seems that at Christmas , movies have (bigger than normal) fall but not in new year, and from what I remember Aquaman had a bigger than normal fall on Christmas day, but yesterday (according to BORReport) Aquaman made $1.2m, this is bigger than last Friday ($1m).
