  1. Movies as a first date are a no for me. Kinda makes me think the guy might be a bit scared to be around me, talk to me. Fine for a second date though.. — I’m not happy with this 104 million weeked. I want BP to crack 400m! 😍
  2. Black Panther’ Dashes Past $520M Worldwide, Eyes $190M+ Second Global Weekend Source: http://deadline.com/2018/02/black-panther-second-week-international-box-office-results-korea-success-1202297841/
  3. But weren’t yesterday gross lower due to “cheap tuesdays” or whatever? So won’t today’s tickets be more expensive meaning more revenue? If not, I might need to amend my projection.
  4. That’s what I’ve been telling them!! Anyways, BP did well yesterday overseas. The overseas Tuesday was $14.6M to represent 11% of the opening weekend. It’s performing well ahead of Doctor Strange and slightly topping last year’s Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 2 and Thor: Ragnarok, neither of which were clear comps ahead of the opening weekend that smashed expectations.
  5. Deadline writes: Black Panther‘s Tuesday was down 48%, giving it a running five-day take of $263.2M, Black Panther should hit $300M by Friday (eight days), if not before. If not before! Which means it would need to earn 37 million on Wednesday and Thursday. 19+18=37 Stripe! I stand by my 120 million prediction for the weekend too.
  6. Only 15 million between conservative and strong projections? I say 20 Tuesday, 19 Wednesday, 18 Thursday, 35 Friday, 50 Saturday, 35 Sunday.
  7. Fandango Ticket Sales Rep More Than 30% Of ‘Black Panther’s $242M Record Opening Weekend Within the first 24 hours of Black Panther tickets going on sale on Jan. 9 –well before the pic hit tracking– Fandango observed that the Disney/Marvel release was beating the advance ticket purchases of summer hit Captain America: Civil War at the same point in time ($179.1M opening). At the time, box office analysts were cautious to comp T’Challa that high. They couldn’t believe it. Initial tracking four weeks prior to the pic’s release indicated $120M-plus, and week after week, Black Panther exploded from there. Fools. The signs, the signs were there! http://deadline.com/2018/02/black-panther-opening-box-office-record-fandango-1202296445/
  8. I wish Marvel fans were as petty as The Beyhive because I could use a gif like this for all the record breaking taking place.
  9. Disney confirms you guyssss. Tuesday 8:35 AM: Disney has just confirmed what we saw earlier: Marvel’s Black Panther is the second-biggest 4-day opener of all-time at the domestic B.O. with $242.6M, after Force Awakens and beating Last Jedi. Monday also marked an all-time record with $40.167M, beating Force Awakens‘ $40.11M.
  10. It is a very fair point. I would also note that Black Panther is not like the other Marvel movies at all. Its very different than the Avengers filrms. Some people might look at IW trailers or remember prior Marvel movies and go like, nah, that doesn’t have Ryan Coogler’s vibe, I’ll catch IW on tv.
