What does that even mean?
They don't do "prints" any more and the studio don't get to choose what ads are shown by a theatre chain.
That wasn't a trailer description, it's a description of footage shown at a recent conference.
...which is either fake or the writer has a bad memory, because it doesn't match the movie.

That trailer description is super fake.

What if I have a great idea to launch a new TERMINATOR trilogy in 5-6 years?

Have we considered that "From the producer of" credits mean absolutely nothing to audiences?
ALITA looked weird. DARK FATE followed a string of TERMINATOR sequels that audiences rejected-to-flat-out-hated.
This isn't shocking, nor is it an indictment of Cameron. Last I checked, AVATAR 2 wasn't following AVATAR: GENISYS.

A bunch of reviews spoil it.

The Force Awakens is a very apt comparison. It isn't as good as TFA - whatever your problems with that movie, it has its own beating heart and is genuinely fun/thrilling - but taken on its own terms, Dark Fate is a very solid action movie. I'd be happy to see a sequel.
The reshoots made it a little better.

Of course it doesn't justify it's existence. It's food for children and Disney has forgotten how to make children movies that adults can also enjoy.
I would argue Disney's live action films are sold as movies for kids but really only have appeal for adults. They're nostalgia-bait and very rarely succeed under their own merits.

Ahh, I did wonder when they were going to panic and hit the “Make sure everyone knows it’s a Shining sequel” button.
I can’t see this film doing well.
The first poster for this movie is just the word "Redrum." There hasn't been a moment where they weren't leaning hard into THE SHINING.

The embargo lifts on the 22nd.
I haven't seen the final cut but I've heard whispers from early press screenings that the reaction is pretty positive.

The explosion of the superhero genre is really no different than the raise and fall of the Western and the Musical. You could even toss in New Hollywood Cinema (Shout Out to Cannastop and Jason's List, lots of good movies there) or the 90s Independent Film Movement if you want to look at trends. It comes from a mixture of right film at the right time, Industry apery, audience's ever-changing tastes (and I'd toss in need for escapism). Like all good genres, it will come to an end. And something else will take is place. The beat goes on, as Cher would say.
I think it's less superhero movies and more IPs: people are reluctant to see movies they aren't already familiar or comfortable with. It just so happens comic books are something a massive amount of people are familiar with, either through reading them or enjoying adaptations growing up.

Okay I promise this is the last thing I will post in this thread with a spoiler tag! (For the people passing over them, we're not talking about major plot revelations or third act details)
SpoilerYes. It's a wonderful, beautiful scene.

That tweet was based on a comment Toby Emmerich made here:
It might come out later in the year, so we can deliver an A+ movie. That sort of comment is usually preamble to a delay, and I can't see them rushing a sequel to a box office disappointment out only ten months later.
-
There's a test screening for this next week and, kinda shockingly, it looks to be PG-13. Or they're at least testing a PG-13 cut.

That's exactly what happened with the pre-sales draft. Stallone took the great script and ruined it with his rewrites, killing character development, tone, action scenes, great (and even unique) details, scale, drama and even the ending. It was very dark, depressing and emotionally devastating drama inspired by Unforgiven with great action and surprisingly big attention to details. I'd say the script was too good for Rambo movie/Millenium action flick and maybe it shouldn't be a surprise that Sly ruined it, he did it with many projects in his career, including Cameron's Rambo 2, but Last Blood is one of the worst cases. The final movie is just your average action flick, but with bad editing and that also feels cheap, like direct-to-vod cheap in some parts.
I need to find this draft.
I found the film satisfying enough, but it keeps nagging at me that it could have been considerably better.

My biggest problem with LAST BLOOD is everything that's good in it feels like it could have been great with a little more attention. Moments that should be devastatingly emotional are serviceable instead. It leads to the whole thing feeling a bit half-baked.

The new trailer played before IT 2 tonight.
It actually looks more XMen-ish than horror. Sadly.
That's a weird way to sell it because the movie isn't like that. I'm guessing they showed a lot of (second act spoiler here)
SpoilerRose and Abra's mental battle
then?

It's like it's a movie and not a book or somethin'.

Not a great trailer but better than the first. I wish they were selling Arnold more because he's really good in this.

@ViewerAnon has credibility.
Debatable, but I'll say my "It's okay" is based on more opinions than just my own. If the film was rated out of 10, I heard a lot of 5s, 6s, and 7s.

Alternatively, maybe Newt isn't the right protagonist for the story they actually want to tell.
