In light of the board battle between him and Disney let's all remember what Peltz did to Paramount

Do we really need to go there in a thread for Sonic the Hedgehog of all things?
8 hours ago, WittyUsername said:Truth be told, I doubt it’s going to have any real effect on the movie’s box office numbers, especially since it’s still nine months away.
To be clear, it’s obviously not a good look, but celebrity controversy is a dime a dozen. Besides, Marsden regularly worked with Bryan Singer, so I don’t even think it’s especially surprising.
Nobody is seeing a sonic movie for James Marsden. Especially not Sonic 3. No they are going to see it to see a child be killed by military forces and how it makes Shadow an edgelord

Gateways 2 review
Emdless animation hits a new high with the follow up to gateways. A true love letter to animation and a multiversal epic.

Not a Disney decision, but Disney deciding to raise the profile of Mando and Baby Yoda more and more and more (really does look like a SW film is finally happening, for instance) makes it all the more bizarre/short sighted that EA decided to nuke the Respawn Mandalorian FPS game allegedly for "lack of Jedi/lightsabers" in it.
Yes, cutbacks have probably a bit more to do with it, but only as much as "gonna axe something and something without lightsabers is gonna be on the chopping block first."
Just incredible timing on EA's part, really.
(and plausibly a massively own-goal one should the very Jedi-less Outlaws blowup on Ubisoft)
I mean EA and short-sighted business decisions go together like PB&J

On Paul's sudden heel turn: I think it was to make clear that Paul is the bad guy going forward. DV did say the turn would be first noticed by Chani.

THR says it's JULY 28th. I actually think it's JULY 18th.
So:
11 SUPERMAN: LEGACY
18 NAKED GUN
25 THE FANTASTIC FOUR
That's a good counter-programming move by paramount

So who is ready for the most awkward theater experience when sonic fans start cheering when a young girl dies on screen? Because if they don't the sonic fandom will be pissed off.

Ok, let's stop pretending that Morbius is unironically a success
It made its budget back at the box office. When you add in Sony sells the streaming rights to different companies depending on which country you are in. Morbius is in the black.

This is going to totally collapse after Presidents Day and it's already floundering overseas (France) so I would be shocked if this gets anywhere near $200M. I hope it doesn't... that would just encourage Sony to keep churning out more cynical cash grabs like this.
It will break even. Sony was smart to close down crackle and sell the streaming rights to their movies.

My guess is amazon/MGM or apple with paramount. It's pretty clear that FFC wants a theatrical run
