Sony, Universal, and WB all in a bidding war for it.

Ryan Coogler & Michael B. Jordan Vampire Pic 3 Studios Battling – Deadline

I'm betting Sony picks it up. They need non- spiderman event films and picking a up a 1st look deal with coogler is a massive shot in the arm for them. They've been directionless since the interview hack.

This was a pretty good watch and Lakeith Stanfield was great as always. The movie definitely has limited niche appeal though since non black audiences and religious black audiences would be turned off just from the trailer.

A damn shame Sony let this die. Saw it today and loved it. If I was the head of a Hollywood studio id give Samuel a blank cheque for him to create a franchise. His style is very crisp and underrated

  3. Sorry for the delay. Read the whole last policeman trilogy.

So as im writing this up. I'm going through a book called the deluge ( it's a piece of climate fiction that follows the slow descent of society as climate change reaches +6 degrees. im using the audiobook which is 40 hours long.) it's a fitting companion to the trilogy. Both about about the inevitable end. The trilogy is well written and holds up well

  4. Horizon entertainment is working on the dark Comedy Supercard. Inspired by true events. The logline is: When the President of Japan stirs up an international incident with North Korea. He convinces an American wresling promoter ( and old friend from his wrestling days) to put on a PPV in Pyongyang.

See, I don't believe this is the issue, because I know I can wait for any movie to be on streaming. Disney has a budget problem. Their films wouldn't have been seen as disaster had they each cost 100 million less.

I think Disney has a marketing problem

Forget politics people thiee products are now shallow or pointless.

It's both. Take a look at the creator: had decent names behind it ( Gareth Edwards, John David Washington) had a low budget for the scale: 80 million. We know people are clamoring for more original projects. Marketing massively dropped the ball.

How many big names have actually been “canceled” long term? The only one I can think of that seems to have stuck so far is James Franco. Even Kevin Spacey has been slowly making a comeback. Hollywood only cares about this stuff if they see it as a threat to their bottomline.

Hell, Paul Walker had a 16 year old girlfriend, and they’re supposedly going to bring him back as a deepfake.

I don't know if doing a interview with a Russian propaganda agent ( spacey just did one with tucker Carlson) is a start of a comeback. ( it isn't it just shows how far he's fallen)
