  1. Worldwide #Boxoffice 25-27 Mar, 2022 1. 🇮🇳 RRR - $64M 2. 🇺🇸 The Batman - $45.5M 3. 🇺🇸 The Lost City - $34.7M 4. 🇺🇸 Uncharted - $12.7M 5. 🇺🇸 Moonfall - $10M
  2. How was RRR in your sample? THU actuals were around 250K.
  3. There are only some 500-600k for Telugu speakers in USA, so not too shabby, selling around 275k tix in the weekend.
  4. The industry standard across the world was rental/share only. Many changed to GROSS later on and some in India changed to NETT like Bollywood. Tollywood continued with SHARE. It was only in 2015 with Baahubali, they started thinking about GROSS as that film did very well at National level.
  5. APTS has one of the best tracking in India but the problem is the reporting figures are SHARE and GROSS numbers are very rare but GROSS estimation from SHARE isn't too hard though, so its no big deal. You will have similar SHARE numbers by everyone, though recently some report SHARE including GST, some report as it used to be pure SHARE. I follow the latter. The difference in GROSS come because the SHARE numbers include Hires. First off what is Hires? Most cinemas follows the normal operation, like a film do say ₹100,000 there, they will pay the agreed share to the distributor say 60% i.e. ₹60,000. In case of Hire, distributor take a fixed amount from the exhibitor and whatever film make is of exhibitor. Now these hire numbers aren't for one day but full run. In the above case, the distributor will get something like ₹300,000 from the cinema for playing the movie. e.g. a movie plays at 100 cinemas and for ease of calculation, say collect 1 lakh in each cinema for total 1cr gross. The gross is for sake of simplification say 50% of collection. Say 10 cinemas of these play at HIRE and each cinema HIRE is ₹2 lakh. Now the SHARE that will be reported will be ₹45 lakhs + ₹20 lakh HIRE = ₹65 lakh. What my system is to take ₹45 lakh SHARE & guessing how much HIRE would have been recovered in 1st day depending on how film performed in other cinemas of the region. I will take 45 lakh + say 25% of HIRE = ₹50 lakh and based on that estimate ₹100 lakh GROSS taking 50% ratio. What most other folks do is take that ₹65 lakh and estimate ~₹130 lakh GROSS. On day two, say the collection are 80% My system will again give ₹40 lakhs + recovery from hires = ₹44 lakh, estimating ₹88 lakh GROSS using 50%. The other folks will just take ₹40 lakhs SHARE and estimate ₹80 lakhs. A real movie example is this one old movie report The collection from normal cinemas is ₹63,73,910 and share is ₹54.76 lakhs, with another ₹45 lakhs for Hires making it ₹1cr reported share. The actual gross in the territory will be ₹75 lakhs approx including day 1 gross from these hired cinemas, but what some people do is take ₹1cr share and estimate gross at ₹1.3cr or so.

  12. 250k+ reported gross for THU RRR. guess will be tough to be #1.
  13. The Lost City Harkins California and Phoenix 4 Final WED Early Screenings - 489/697 on 6 shows (70.15%) Thursday Previews California - 717/4185 on 14 shows Phoenix - 870/2110 on 13 shows Total - 1587/6295 on 27 shows Comps 87% of Jackass Forever - $1.48M 63% of Uncharted - $2.34M 134% of Free Guy - $2.95M Let's go $2.35M
  14. RRR easy #1 on THU. $1M ahead of Batman. Batman I haven't got require info as I would need, but I am told it will be around $2.25M. Don't take Batman numbers as my other ones.
  15. Nope. Only 1 loc for THU will be reported, it did $3k. There are 4 cinemas in Greater Toronto which make maximum biz and are basically become mafia for South Indian films, releasing movie in their shit cinemas and nothing get reported. If some producer try to release film in regular cinemas, there are incidents of screen tearing, pepper spray, etc. This happened recently
  16. RRR has crossed $3M in USA. $3,000,127 from 981 Locations at 7:45 PM PST Inc Canada probably $3.3M. Final likely $3.5M+
  17. 1445 as at 20:00. Final can be 1550-1600 range perhaps. Comps will be all over the place I imagine. Provisionally it looks like this taking 1550 as final seats. 85% of Jackass Forever - $1.4M 61% of Uncharted - $2.27M 41% of Scream - $1.45M 128% of Free Guy - $2.81M I think $2.25M will be best of them. JF and Scream over-indexed in the area. FG may have under-indexed.
  18. The Lost City Harkins California and Phoenix 4 at 16:00 WED Early Screenings - 489/697 on 6 shows (70.15%) Thursday Previews California - 441/4185 on 14 shows Phoenix - 576/2110 on 13 shows Total - 1017/6295 on 27 shows Final number can be 1300+ may be even 1500 at top end.
