2.9cr nett. Godzilla (2014) opened to ₹4.5cr though. Why is this Godzilla doing less everywhere? -
Even if it had a solo release, wouldn't have mattered. Audience are different and not that it was running on capacity something. It did what? 3cr.

Skull Island opened with ₹3cr Nett Approx. Will open at roughly same with adjusted for inflation and GST i.e. ₹4cr nett+.

John Wick around ₹1.5cr Nett opening. Godzilla ₹4-5cr Nett opening.

SoTY had very good music and Kjo himself directing the film and still that film barely broke even. This one was relying on non-existent star power of Tiger, industry is delusional and everything else failed anyways.

Naa Badhaai Ho did well with characters relations and emotions. More than comedy, the emotions worked for me.

There are hedging contracts and yeah the local body of studio keep the money and may exchange/transfer when favourable. Also, what happens in India, that you don't get money from multiplex chains every single day. The money is usually received after span of time, monthly, quarterly as you may have multiple films in that period combined.

I guess it will be mix of two. I hated Shubh Mangal Shavdan 2nd half where they lost the subject with stupid comedy and whatever the hell is happening is happening. The first half was pretty good establishing a guy with sexual problem. Hopefully they don't go as bad as the second half of that film. I was thinking that may be even Badhaai Ho will fall for that, but it was very mature. Expecting same. That said, AK is doing great.

The way I see it, $515mn after 1st weekend, only 4 films have managed till date. TFA, Avatar, Titanic and Black Panther. In comparison other 200 openers TA 416 JW 450 A:IW 421 TLJ 400

Youtube main channel has 17mn views so far in some 30 hours. Say 24 was around 15mn. Including other channels its around 35mn. Twitter has 10mn views so far, say 24 was 10mn. Say other upload takes to 15mn. So first one has 136mn views on official upload on Facebook, I reckon around 70mn would be in 24 hours. This one has 12mn views so far. Including other channels would be around 22mn. This totals 72mn Approx. I will be very surprise if WB announce over 100mn views for this one.

How come the first one has 197mn with that low numbers. I don't remember Twitter numbers being higher as well.

I like Apes trilogy, even Skull Island was okayish, like the original Jurassic Park. Rest is BS. Sorry, I get no orgasm seeing two CGI monsters fight.

What worked for TJB was India-ness in it. That said, should defeat the evil of Jurassic World films.
