  1. Dangal and Coco would have that honour I guess. Dangal was above its day one for consecutively 21 days. This is without ticket booking charges. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1vG0RSFrzqt2FL1_F7PkgmcoP9R3bRU1S9oStvesyD_Q/edit?usp=drivesdk
  2. I may not be online here today but will try keeping update of hourly gross in my China sheet. Wednesday is on track of ¥205-210mn going by morning shows. The bold ones are actual the others are projeced. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/19FMGxiYylQCRPWmETDsjYYxTZOj2EElHhXWCF655CbY/edit?usp=drivesdk
  3. That's rather different than Indians as overseas Indians watch films more than natives here. Also Indian film have limited overseas audience somehow. The biggest in US has $22mn, the second biggest being $12.4mn.

  5. Yes this ain't looking that bad. Now I have two clubs going on, one bets Disney $4B domestic 2019 which needs Aladdin to do well, i.e. ~300 Other is Aladdin under Prince of Persia inflation adj. Seems like it will end up in between both
  6. So these are only opening night numbers? I thought it's opening Friday. In that case, even if it do 48% of IW, i.e. $19mn Approx, will give Opening day of $65mn plus. Though it shall be $20mn plus with this ratio as IW was well IW. From there, 65-70 + 55-60 + 45-50 = 165-180. BATB Be Prepared.
  7. BTW Operation Red Sea went from ¥39mn Wednesday to ¥68mn Thursday on Women's Day. On that note, assuming tomorrow TWE is ¥210mn Wednesday, Valentine's may hit $350-375mn. Also Captain Marvel is opening on Women's day.
  8. There are more Chinese in USA than Indians but why box office is so low. The numbers which TWE did, is something Hindi films doing since mid 2000s. Even in rest of the world, despite having over 5 million of Chinese numbers are negligible. Why? @Olive @Gavin Feng

The day rather behaved strangely, with slow mornings, very good matinees and very slow during 17:00 to 19:00 and strong after that matching Monday pace for late night shows. Mid point at 14:50, up 13 minutes from Monday. Pre sales made 15.7% of the day, compared to 14.8% yesterday.
  11. I just realized what a crap year 2018 was for Disney in China, Leaving aside Marvel films, they barely made $100mn from 5 films.

  14. Fixed it. Besides, surprisingly last hour film was pretty slow. Added just ¥14mn as compared to ¥25mn yesterday. We are back to ¥235mn. Besides, I am on mobile so can't share the table, here's where I am working https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/19FMGxiYylQCRPWmETDsjYYxTZOj2EElHhXWCF655CbY/edit?usp=drivesdk

  17. AT 14:00 ¥109mn, which is on the line of the formulae I am using to project. Using that Tuesday is on line to ¥235mn Approx. 18. May be Monday still had some holiday leftovers as Tuesday morning shows are rather slow comparative to Monday and perhaps today box office will be back to normalcy. Using the yesterday hourly change trend, Tuesday from 12:00 is heading for ¥222mn or $33mn. Though that's not final number, next 2 hours shall gave better idea. That said, ¥222mn will still be more than half (54%) of Sunday (even Saturday) when usually its around 35-40% for most high score films. Aquaman had Tuesday 33% of Sunday while Bumble bee was 30% only. Comparing with Local films, ORS has 2nd Tuesday 51% of 2nd Sunday.
