Interesting tibits from this thread
Basically confirms WB changed up Snyder's 5 Part Arc once BvS underperformed
EDIT: Here's some video
?
Apparently the inital JL script/idea was somehow more fucked up than anything they could've come up with. So they had to compromise and aim for an Infinity War (those damn spies passed it on again to the enemy! ).
Then, shit hit the fan, and Josstice League became their endgame because it apparently worked out so well for Suicide Squad.

I don't really see what Batman and Superman have to do with New Line.
Has to do with Shazam. Shazam being the first DCEU movie under New Line.
Off-tangent regarding the Batman & Superman rebound: Goyer & Nolan had to come in from other WB/New Line movies before Begins after B&R and Snyder had to come in from other WB movies before MoS after Returns

If Batman could rebound from Batman & Robin and Superman from Superman 3, 4, and Returns, I think they're fine.
I think it's more if WB/New Line can rebound.
In case anyone's forgotten, this is the first funny book superhero movie from New Line Cinema since Son of the Mask.

Also the other thing is, a Dora movie in this style had been a source of parody for a long time-
So a movie studio actually doing it, comes with the usual trope of Hollywood running out of ideas.
This is moreover why I can't stand the McQuarrie written & directed M:I movies.

It feels like a bizarre time-warp. Nick out here giving us Lizzie McGuire: The Movie style theatrical features in 2019.
After Bumblebee, I just accepted Paramount wants this niche.

Lets wait for some sonic footage first... it’s being produced by the visionary Tim Miller after all
I hope that movie has him gain some perspective beyond action scenes. There's some cool camera work that can be done with just people talking.

But see how she destroyed that whole Kree armada without breaking a sweat even though those vessels were full of Kree. That's what happened in MOS when Superman just destroyed the last Krypton ships. Just like she obliterated every one of her Kree former squad "friends"without any moral quandary.
Cosmic MCU I've learned is very kill count heavy. You've got mythical figures annhilating practically every realm, pirate bounty hunters doing what pirate bounty hunters do, and now CM, which I haven't gotten around to. In MoS, weren't the last remaining other Kryptonians evil? They won't waiver on making a new home even if another lifeform goes endangered/extinct. That's where movies like WW & Aquaman come across as killing living non-zombie things for the sake of doing action scenes.

In her other adaptations, she's either an uptight Captain America (a strict/stern school teacher) OR the female equivalent of Hulk (yes, I know She-Hulk...but She-Hulk is more 'zen' than MS MARVEL)

Bumblebee is my ballpark. Given that movie was way different from what the trailers seem to let on. At least this comes across as honest toward its juvenile pursuit.

She will be 18 by the time the movie comes out.

Do we have to lump Pikachu in with this? This movie looks so bland.
4 minutes ago, Cappoedameron said:Why would you disrespect Pikachu that has actually been well received by the majority for something that looks like a TV movie and an abomination proclaimed to be "Sonic"?
Battle of Kid's IPs
pretty sure that's all of them

I'm just waiting to have Shazam! take the number 2 spot from WW behind BvS.Saw the first 5 minutes of Aquaman and that was beyond hilarious...will get around to the rest later.

tbph, it feels like what that Kim Possible tv movie should've been.
Indiana Jones for kids...sounds about right.

So...who's making that Dora/Sonic/Pika club?

Funny enough that's what the one negative review spotlighted.
SpoilerQuoteMany fans would like to forget Man of Steel, but curiously Shazam! alludes to it frequently, right up to the final scene — with a closing shot so bizarre that it somehow encapsulates the current state of this franchise in the saddest way possible.

So a director was able to direct a dark DCEU movie and not manage to have it get a 30% on RT.
Snyder can't relate
It also references much of the Snyder flicks.

Hey, I've said numerous times that I very much dislike the bias against DC. And I definitely think some sections of the internet will always have it. That's why I have stated numerous times on here that I think it's better for Shazam to have critical acclaim and good wom than for it to be box office juggernaut. But the point is, for now, WW is an unmitigated success, AQM is well-liked and a box office smash, and Shazam seems to be a critical smash. But there are still the bad apples in the bunch, and DC does need more movies under their belt that can please critics, audiences and deliver solid numbers before we can say they're on a streak.
I'd prefer the continued juggernaut on account of another IP that hasn't really been tested outside of cartoons and something someone's grandparent might recognize as a kid. Plus, this is supposed to spinoff 2 others whilst the next 2 DC flicks on the chopping block will be so low in stakes we'll look back on Shazam in wonderment.

We'll see.
It will be 2023, celebrating the 10th anniversary and I can guarantee you'll still this section of the internet spouting this.

Americans have not been much laissez-faire capitalist for a long time and much less that it is sold outside the world, they are ultra interventionist in this type of stuff.
Whatever form of capitalism it is, the US media shrunk quite a bit to where there are 6 now 5 major disseminating conglomerates.
