  1. He said himself that he was following his tried-and-true sequel method of taking the same general plot of things and flipping it on its head. How that does or doesn't work for you may vary. Now that he's played that hand, Avatar 3 will probably not follow that formula. The best thing is that we don't have to wait 13 years to see if that's true.
  2. The fact that RT is still shitting the bed in the exact same ways it did 10 years ago is incredible.
  3. Yeah for every person I know is on RT there's like 20 I have no idea about. High 70s-low 80s is what I'm guessing it lands at. Maybe it could go mid 80s if people who are lukewarm on the story still recommend seeing it for the theatrical experience.
  4. The easiest tell for TWOW will be how much they focus on the visual. Cameron has been all about how character driven this movie is so if it's truly a marked improvement over the first film that should be emphasized in these reactions.
  5. Iger will fly to New Zealand and fight Jim in the parking lot if that's what it takes for him to direct 4 & 5.
  6. Rating description from the IMAX upload of the trailer Rated PG-13 for sequences of strong violence and intense action, partial nudity, and some strong language
  7. They're basically the RDA-equivalent of Jake post-soul transfer but we don't know exactly how they're created.
  8. - Probably as a part of the intro getting the audience up to speed. - Avatars were for diplomacy and the RDA is done playing nice. Avatars have been replaced by Recoms - Maybe. There are a bunch of scientist characters we've seen nothing of. Edie Falco is playing a general and we've seen nothing of her. - Maybe
  9. He's missing because most of his screen time is with Quaritch and his crew so there's probably a bunch of action scenes and major story stuff they want to save for people to discover in the theater.
  10. The roll out is a mess. Regal tickets are already available to zero fanfare. No idea when tickets everywhere else are going live and the final trailer doesn't drop until like 9pm est. On top of all that, Avatar 1 comes back to Disney+ but it's not the remaster. I've given grace to the marketing in the past but even stuff that should be a layup has proven to be difficult.

  12. Guess we're getting that 3 minute plot summary trailer after all . Final Trailer drops at halftime during Monday Night Football on ESPN apparently.
  13. Surprisingly light on spoilers. Was expecting a 3 minute plot summary like the trailer for the first movie.
