Saw Saltburn tonight. Really loved it.
Reminded me of the talented Mr Ripley.

The six plus months of "Marvel is dead heil cinema" articles are gonna make Deadpool blowing up all the sweeter imo
You are in for a rough couple years.

I think for a lot of GA the mcu was the story of Iron Man.
He was THE driving force of the franchise.
His story ended and a lot of the audience decided to walk away.

Oh wow, surprising reviews. Gonna need to check this out now.

Not sure if I'm gonna see this or not. I usually check out every horror film I can,but I think Eli roth is a massive hack and haven't liked a single film of his.

This is my kind of poster!
Eli Roth: “Final poster! A tribute to those great 90s slashers”.
Looks like every generic modern poster.

This is why they should've done a normal Captain Marvel 2 and not this weird team up with two characters nobody cares about that's like only 90 minutes long 😤
I do feel like this was a mistake.
They should have done a solo captain Marvel space adventure where Brie just gets to have fun and keep Fury because they have nice chemistry. And also to have kept Ben Mendelssohn. Have the climax be the thing that leads into this.

Looks like it have potential
A bit disgusted with Timothee tho after his participation in SNL and that cruel sketch about Hamas
Hilary loses? 3 minute long sad piano intro.
Ukraine invaded? Candlelight vigil
Palestinians facing ethnic cleansing and genocide? Make jokes about them.
SNL pretty pathetic for that.

I wish they let her character have this much personality

That was a really cute trailer for the first minute, then Chris Pratt spoke.

Alright sorry, I'll take my seething somewhere else and piss off from this thread until presales start. Yes I was being a moron spamming this thread with the same garbage 20 times, you were correct @Dominic Draper
All good man, no hard feelings. I'm sure it'll be entertaining one way or another when this comes out.

Mark my words, the day tickets for this go on sale, it'll be a clear flop, and the Infinity Gauntlet of 2023 comic book movie flops will be complete
I think you've made a variation of this same post about 17 times in this thread already.

It gives major Trekkie vibes, and not Abrams’ reboot mainstream Trekkie vibes either.
Funny enough that other subplot in it instantly reminded me of the episode of OG Star Trek with the Tribbles

On another note.
I can't be the only one whose eyes glaze over when anything in the MCU is about the kree and Skrulls. It's all syfy level gibberish.

The Marvels was a poorly made, disjointed mess with 3 leads that the audience doesn't seem to be connecting with.
It felt twice as a long as it was, and my audience biggest reaction was to the post credit scene.
It's not a good film, and MCU has done a very poor job with Captain Marvel as a character. It's all tell, and no show, and should be the opposite.
I think ultimately the TV shows were a massive mistake and has fractured the audience. The other tease in the film for the future was met with crickets.

Just got out.
This movie had the shortest run time of the MCU, yet it felt longer than Flower Moon while watching it.
It felt like the film was ripped apart and stitched back together in post. It's disjointed, poorly paced, strangely edited and very dull.
My audience was about half full and were mostly lifeless. The only things that got strong reactions were Kamala's parents (who are great) , the cats and 1 of the teases for the future. The 2 teases I'm thinking of at the end, the first went over to a blank lifeless reaction. The second elicited some ooohs and ahhhs and some convos.
The 3 leads have very little chemistry. For me, I wouldn't say I hate any of them, but have complete apathy.
I was never a fan of the iron man Jr, fan boying of Holland. But at least spidey felt more well rounded and iron man is a beloved character by the audience, so at least it's understandable for him to fan Boy over the character that carried the MCU.
Here, if this is a lot of audiences intro to Ms. Marvel her only characteristic seems to be loving Captain Marvel, who is probably the dullest character in the MCU. I don't think that is Brie's fault. I think she is a wonderful actress. But the way Marvel has handled this character leaves me scratching my head. The audience has been given very little reason to like or connect with this character. We always HEAR about things she's doing, but we never really get to see these adventures she is on. Giving her amnesia was such a miscalculated introduction. I really feel like they have done an extremely poor job with Captain Marvel.
The villain is maybe the worst in all pf the MCU. Ronan was already such a lifeless bore, and this is just a worse version.
The film just plods along and then ends. My audience was more into Ant Man 3 than this.
It's not offensively bad, or even memorable in any way. It is just there, existing for little reason.

Question: What happens when even one of the best directors goes to Netflix? I'm talking about Fincher, whose latest movie The Killer is so dull, so weak and ultimately pointless. Are they not putting in the same effort when directing for Netflix compared to theaters?
The movie is fantastic though.

I like Brie Larson, she seems like a cool chick but does anyone really believe that she could get a Jennifer Lawrence on the Hot Ones type meme going? Because I don't. She's just not that kind of interviewee.
She was on hot ones 3 years ago, no meme came from it, and it's one of the lesser viewed ones since the show got popular.

Because it needs company in the top 5 biggest flops of the year
Marvels
Indiana Jones
Flash
MI7
Wonder what the 5th will be?
Why would MI7 be in the top 5 when Shazam 2 and Blue Beetle came out this year.

No need to watch anything. People have successfully spread this misinformation & destroyed it's box office. Marvel seriously needed someone like James Gunn to debunk all misinformation but unfortunately they're lazy & they don't even care.
Gunn does more harm than good on twitter.

I thought everything about joker from the batman clip we got was dreadful. The look, the performance. None of it worked for me.

The Batman 2 will do well but decrease from the original I think. First one had some novelty Pattinson becoming Bats and the look of the film but I’m not sure it had much audience staying power
I think it'll drop. Maybe not as bad as the drop from Dawn to War with the apes films, but I could see a drop to the 500-600 range.

The first Avengers is , 11 years later, still the best MCU movie. Avengers 2 was hampered by too many plotlines that the studio tried to shove in. Just because Joss Whedon is morally benign figure doesn't mean his creations are bad.
I'd put the first avengers in the bottom 10 of the MCU, and the worst avengers film.
Aged like milk.

Thought this was a very charming throwback film to an era long past.
The kind of cozy, fun character dramas we used to get frequently.
I don't think the comedy was quite sharp enough or the drama quite poignant enough to want to see it winning oscars, but I did enjoy it a lot
