Weekend Thread: Endgame 40.6M Friday, 61-62.5m Sat (per Asgard p.49)

Marketing was more or less non existent. Besides an awesome Zachary Levi, his chemestry with the kid and how well they handled the fish out of water part of the story. The movie didn’t offer much imo. Bad writing and overarching story, bad cinematography, it looked cheap. Hope they make another one, as Levi was perfectly casted and this character has a lot of fun potential. -

Some good picks here. Late night have such a weird cast combo that I have to see it. -

It’s Fox, they got co financing help from Paramount because of the never ending cost of the movie. So Fox got international distribution and Paramount domestic. -

Cameron made Alien a popular IP? Ridley did that, he made the better movie aswell. -

Yeah. Doesn’t Disney own Titanic now aswell? I know it was co financed with Paramount and Fox had the OS distribution on it. -

I see it a lot. But this year alone I feel CM proved that there’s a middle ground. Most responses were something like, it was decent, i liked it, not bad, good adition to the MCU, it was a middle of the road MCU movie etc etc. -

It was great. It doesn’t touch Endgame for me, but it was well acted, well made and a very funny movie. 10/10 would Recommend. -

Monday would be my guess aswell, as the Russo’s said the Endgame spoiler hammer lifts on Monday. I’m expecting a very different trailer compared to the first one. -

This movie is something else. -
The most annoying thing was how hard it was to see anything, that dragon battle like wtf was that? The Dothraki riding scene was beyon stupid, like here you go Night King a 100k more dead people to fight for you. Why show us Ghost if he’s not supposed to do anything. Arya going from badass to damsel in distress to badass again in 10 minutes. They managed to put in shot of a white walkers hair flipping, implying that she sprinted past them, and we are going to belive she can run 20 meters per second? All our favourite character being surounded by 100s and 1000s of zombies with their backs to the Wall and as soon as they are about to die they cut away, when they cut back to them again all is good. I give Sam the biggest how the fuck are you still alive out of all of them. Jon being an idiot thinking he can scream the dragon to death, Danny deciding to stay on the ground with her dragon. Theon fighting like he’s the best fighter on the show to then proceeding to run at the king screaming and dying like he’s never fought in his life. and Bran as you said, what is the point of him? What purpose does he serve? He was the link to the King and that’s how it ends? Sansa got a knife and went down to the crypt, a woman who have fought some of the worst people on the show the queen of her people didn’t decide to use it once? Completely against her character.

Not on the cinema industry, but with cable dying and streaming taking over, a big part of the movie and TV industry are Netflix, Amazon, Hulu and Google. With WB/Universal/Disney/Apple all close to launching their own streaming service. The thought of AT&T and Comcast being allowed to throttle your internet when you don’t watch their service because of no net neautrality is terrifying.

But you don’t have to go many years back 4-5? And they had years when they were the 3-4-5th biggest studio. This industry changes all the time, Disney is in pole position right now, but in 5-10 who knows? Seems like Comcast, Disney and AT&T wants to focus more on streaming after seeing how much money Netflix makes in a year. Paramount, Sony, Lionsgate, the big studios baby studios and the independent studios will probably be bought from one of the big studios or a huge corp ala Google, Apple or Amazon.
