  1. Yup. It’s starting to drop now aswell, was mid 90 now 87. Looking at IMDB it’s going down fast, soon under 7.0, Letterboxd also going down, soon under 3.0.
  2. They are going on an adventure to rediscover magic so they can spend just one day with their father who died when they were to young to remember him.
  3. I know Mojo is an unoffical site, but why does Endgame or Disney movies in general have so few countries tracked? If you look at movies from other studios they have far more countries listed. Also seem to remember they only tracked money from the biggest cities in some countries.
  4. US this year have 94 vs 64 The Last Jedi 91 vs 44 Captain Marvel 78 vs 56 Hereditary is 89 vs 64 Roma 96 vs 71 Sorry to Bother you 93 vs 71 Widows 91 vs 62 High life 83 vs 47 (not wide though) The Shape of Water 92 vs 72 Phantom Thread 91 vs 70 Probably many more.
  5. Well that makes sense considering the number of movies released have almost doubled since 2009.
  6. Today I learned that the internet is the same as it was 10 years ago, social media the same, huge TV’s was cheap back then and that everyone had one, same with gaming PC’s and consoles. Like come on, the convenience with piracy today compared to 10 years ago is huge. 1000/1000 internet makes it so easy to download actual good quality 80GB movies in no time. iPhone came out in late 2008, so the smartphone age hadn’t startet at all in 2009. Today you can do everything on your phone with 4G, YouTube, Netflix, Twitch, social media etc. Free to play games today is a lot bigger than back then aswell, so many battle royale games have exploded largely thanks to Twitch. Compare yearly YouTube views from 2009 and 2019 and you will see a substantialy bigger market growth than the theatres have. Streaming like Netflix are a big reason that developed countries like Japan, USA, South Korea and western Europe and Scandinavia sells less tickets than they did 10 years ago. Reading this thread have been pure cancer, people dismissing everything and coming up with an excuse to call this or that better and claimimg the society we live in and how we live it hasn’t changed the past 10 years, so their ego doesn’t get hurt.
  7. Buster Scruggs, Roma, Okja, Mudbound, Beasts of no Nation, The Meyerowitz Stories, The Boy Who Harnassed the Wind, Geralds Game, The Other Side of The Wind, I Don’t Feel at Home in This World Anymore, First They Killed my Father, Outlaw King, 1922 etc or all their great docs doesn’t get any better or worse because their Netflix originals.
  8. Doesn’t really look like anything new or inventive, the animation doesn’t look any special either.
  9. Only Star Wars (1), Avengers (2) and Cameron (2) have made a 2B movie. The closest is over 300m away, a fair amount of $ that inflation won’t cover easily in the next decade either. So going by history, I don’t see a huge increase in 2B movies, atleast not in the first halt of this coming decade. The next will be another Disney movie, not a surprise considering they own all 5. So the next Avatar will likely make it, the next Star Wars likely won’t, Avatar 3-5 depends on how well the 2nd does, the finale in the new Star Wars trilogy have potential to do it, if it’s done right and the Next Avengers movie most likely will do it again whenever that comes out.
  10. Decent number. People expecting big weekday numbers from a 3 hour + previews long movie is crazy.
  11. Doesn’t feel like a very christmas movie, but why not.
