  1. Audience vibes coming out of my sell out were positive. I think anyone who stayed home due to TLJ will be told by their friends that they should go.
  2. Maybe the general public, who lack the necessary knowledge of film criticism or storytelling needed for reviews more complex than “I liked/hated it”, should stop reading other opinions and just go see the gd thing themselves? And maybe then we can acknowledge that art is rarely appreciated by the masses, and is under no obligation to please anyone. Also, those critics who have that knowledge, and yet still bitch about Margot Robbie’s screen-time, should go kindly **ck off somewhere.
  3. Did you just use the word mistake to describe a film that’s been out for a grand total of one day? Get the crow ready, son. “Far From Home” is headed to 400 mil.
  4. I hang out in spheres where fans loved KOTM. Coming into this thread was like literally stabbing my eyes with a corkwrench. Bummer it isn’t drumming up more business. Godzilla, Mothra, and Ghidorah really nailed their performances.
  5. The First Movie is a ***damned classic. Not comparable. This was great (as a fan), but it can’t hold a candle to the first three animated Pokémon flicks.
  6. I don’t get it. I loved Pokémon as a kid. Played games, watched Anime, fell out after Gen II. I showed up opening day and loved the movie.
  7. The only way to salvage this is go back to the winning formula: Rowling writes this story as a novel series, WB converts book to film. It’s simple as that (and yet so very complicated). As a lifelong Potter scholar, the obvious critique to levy at Crimes of Grindelwald is that it should have been a 600 page novel. Fans would have devoured it. Rowling has been absent from Twitter since January. Something’s definitely brewing. I encourage everyone here to visit hogwartsprofessor.com and read John Granger’s latest posts about Fantastic Beasts & Rowling’s Twitter absence.
