The soundtracks for these films, with the exception of McCreary's score, have never strongly impacted my enjoyment of these films to begin with.
For myself, I found the teasing of the Godzilla theme (he'd play the first few notes) before it divulged into loud clanging noises a MAJOR hype deflator in GvK.

That's totally fair, but his remixes of the pre-existing music WERE great and I'd say a decent chunk of the original compositions (Ghidorah theme esp) were quite strong!
That last bit from 2:15 on...awesome

Tom Holkenborg is very hit and miss, just like Michael Giacchino.
I'd disagree, Junkie is excellent on George Miller films but 99% of the time it's just loud clanging noise. Giacchino is hit or miss but he hits waaaaaaaaaaay more often.

The full soundtrack was released today:
It's just as awful and bland as his GvK score (he's recently come out as pro AI for music and uh...I think he's already using it blegh)

Idk, I haven't played a lot of survival horror recently but it's nowhere near as well paced as the recent Resident Evil games or some stuff released around the same time like Outlast. Those games were much shorter too. I think Isolation should've been like half the length it was.
Isolation def runs waaaaay too long but for an absolute Alien nerd like myself, it captures the atmosphere, visual aesthetic, etc. SO unbelievably perfectly well that I honestly played half of it as an immersive sim just checking out all the little details and such.

I'm hoping there's a little more to it than just alien slasher film (the other films always have a bit more on their minds) but either way it looks fun.

Would really like Timmy to do a full blown action vehicle in a couple years. The last act solidified that Timmy has the same presence in action roles as former twinks like Cruise and Bale. He just needs to bulk up.
Just as long as its not a Netflix Original action vehicle!

He didn’t ruled out the possibility of adapting Children in the future as well. To be fair that’s the story that wraps up everything, even tho is not Paul centric. He just needs time.
I’m pretty sure the only reason Part 3 has not be already announced is that WB is pushing for the sequel now while Denis wants to make another film inbetween.
Children you can do down the line, no rush...I wouldn't be shocked if years later he returns once he's had time to take a break from Arakkis.

Seeing this on Wednesday! Was kinda lukewarm hype wise because same GvK team (like but don't love it like the other MV) but the recent clips have been selling me hard. This movie legit just feels like an adaptation of the Pipeworks games, human scale be damned!

Yeah I don't recall Deadline or whoever ever doing a write up on that strategy, for those 2 movies, Uncut Gems outside the US to Netflix, Saltburn did the same thing outside the US and UK. But that was already an Amazon MGM movie, so I guess those weren't sales.
Uncut Gems was such a last minute one that in Canada, theatres had to pull the posters off the wall closer to release because they weren't getting it.

Worth noting that it's coming out on Prime in most international markets
Covenant and Operation Fortune were the same. I wonder if it's lucrative for Lionsgate, they get their money back on licensing to Prime so they dump it in the US for a few extra bucks without really investing extra.

I'm all here for the Guy Ritchie becomes a mid budget dad core action director renaissance...but this is gonna be a major bomb, and sadly looks more Operation Fortune (bad) than Wrath of Man or Covenant (good)

The film looks very very good but these trailers are not even close to the Fury Road level ones (post 2019 WB trailers have never reached their past heights tbf).

Why did Kevin Greutert return to direct then? I'm pretty sure he could've found something else after Saw X success.
Yeah like him coming back for X was a legit shock because of how burned he was on Saw 3D. I can't imagine he's too happy if the same thing is happening again now.

Saw this at TIFF last year. One word: PAINFUL.

I'm 1000% faituged off MCU and DCEU stuff but I will be there day one for this, the only CBM i really care about this year. Venom 2 was 90 mins of pure entertainment and I can't wait to see Hardy's performance evolve to hopefully even nuttier heights, even in the very mediocre and bland Venom 1, he makes it eminently watchable.

This looks very televisual but also looks absolutely striking lol. The grading on some of the images is just fantastic
Yeah the colours REALLY pop while also being very naturalistic. The way the blue skies and yellowy/brown mountains compliment each other (esp those back to back shots at 2:25) really made me go wow.

I liked the first Dune but didn't quite love it because of emotional inertness. Anyone who had the same feeling on Dune 1 see this last night? Seems like alot of big time Dune Heads giving reviews here, which is totally fine to be, but they also told me I should be cuming my pants over Part One too.
It's more emotionally involved than one for sure, and the sheer added spectacle makes up for a lot but Dune inherently carries a far more alien, cold mood to it. This one has a central romance anchoring it but personally, it left me cold cold cold so I didn't get much out of it but others seem to be.

Oh man this looks great. Extremely refreshing that this looks like a classic western and not another revisionist take on the genre which has been done to death atp (although I hope it's depiction of indigenous peoples is not as it was in classic westerns ofc).

Spoiler
https://www.vanityfair.com/hollywood/dune-part-3
When he said it was a cliffhanger I hoped it wasn't true but alas...
I'd say for 90% of it, i was 10/10 losing my mind, most of my issues with 1 were gone (it was weirder and visually more colorful and dynamic) but I left unsatisfied by the end. Ended on a sour note for me. The central romance also doesn't work, zero chemistry.
My rating of the film is still very very high bc I adored most of it but I was overall disappointed?

Something doesn't line up, will have to wait for more details on this production.
They said only 10m extra was bc of strikes and they only shot for 49 days which is shorter than usual but efficient because that's what old Ridley is like. He's not really known for going over budget as of late?
Unless he went screw it and started adding in tons of crazy stuff lol

How much did Aquaman's budget inflate because of the reshoots/post production? Wonder if it would've broke even at that earlier budget number.
Still didn't do great but its impressive that their highest grossing film since Aquaman 1...was the sequel that they spent all year saying was the worst thing ever and dumped it with next to no marketing.

Yeah I can't find any reference to Benjamin being in the movie before now in old reviews so yeah I guess after the strike they just replaced all of Skarsgard dialogue?
My friends saw it at TIFF and they said the voice has been changed to Benjamin.

No wonder Chad signed a deal giving him power over the franchise going forward after Continental and this. Not a shock once I saw who was hired for director.
