was sick last week, wanted to see it this week but its showtimes were absolutely annihilated in my country, most theaters dropped it and the few that didnt only have it once per day very late at night
What is your country ? In France the re-release of Titanic is still here and should stay for several weeks

There is a huge backlog of domestic movies waiting for release in China so the chances of a Titanic re-release getting an adequate number of showings is slim to none. Besides, Hollywood has a limited quota in China, why would Disney waste it on a re-release which won’t even generate anything above a million dollars for them in China.I think Titanic would have made some millions in China especially during this period (Valentine's Day). Don't forget that the 2012 release made $145M, so I think Chinese people love Titanic

got a french article about that then?
I found this but I think it's a paid item.
The biggest grossers in France are :
1. €136.8M for A2 with 13.366M admits (ATP is €10.23 or $10.97)
2. €130M for Titanic (21,774M admits) but will add few millions more with the re-release which is doing well here
3. A1 (15,340M admits) with €128M
4. The Intouchables (19,490M admits) with around €123M
5. Welcome to the sticks (20,489M admits) around €123M like the intouchables

Yesterday Avatar reappared in the top 10, and I noticed that it finally passed the 5M tickets sold!
Between the first Avatar in 2009, which has 7.9M admissions, and the second in 2022 the only other movies that passed this mark were:
- Benvenuti al Sud by Claudio Bisio, but some sources say 4.9M
- 4 movies by Checco Zalone: Che Bella Giornata, Sole a Catinelle, Quo Vado (this one with 9.4M) and Tolo Tolo
- The Lion King in 2019
TLK was a really huge success in Italy, do you think Avatar can surpass €45M (the last milestone) and do you think with the re-release Titanic could surpass Solo a Catinelle (in lc ofc) ?
-
How much A2 can add after this weekend (with the expansion) ? And what is Maoyan forecast ?
I saw on twitter that maybe Titanic could be re-released in China but later, do you think it's possible ?

Avatar is already reach the end phase.
above $500m WW is still big chance, just really little chance for $550m
Yes but if AM3 is a flop at the box office, chances for $2,3B are growing

Is there any Avatar 2's numbers in Israel? I remember the first movie was like the first 1m admission movie back in 2009.
300k just in 2022 (2 weeks) but after that idk

Do you think Titanic re-release can make something like 300k admits ?
-
I think anything above $500M is good and this "flop" is a good news for Avatar's legs

They all consumer here in restaurant dance when they heard MJ’s song, that’s really surprised
In China MJ probably also the most popular singer,at least eveybody even villagers and old people know his name
Is MJ very popular like every where in the world but in Asia and in big countries like russia / India / SK / Japan and ofc China ?
I heard that he was really popular in Japan but surely not as popular as In Europe and France

Something is off here. Says avatar #5 with 240k while #4 is 220k. Not sure if that means avatar should be #4 or the admits are swapped (avatar 220k).
Avatar should be #4

maybe spillover from Valentine's (where it was the most popular choice)?
Yes maybe but in France a 30% drop is expected

Holy crap, they spent 60m euro on an Asterix film today?!
Yes and it should end up around 4.5M admissions so it's going to be an economic disaster for the studio

It's a prediction for this week and these are admissions not gross

avatar 2 10 times as many tickets as ant man
pretty, pretty, pretty good, I tip my non-existent hat to the german (and by extension the european) people
hows 10 million in the first run looking? If its close will disney do expansions to get it over the line or is that just something they do in the dom market?
It will surpass 10M without re-release, but does someone know why Titanic is expected to have 0% drop ?

Low start for AM3
Great mon and mostly tues for Titanic (It surpassed 22M admits yesterday)
Good legs (-22%) for A2, we will see in the future if it will can surpass 14M admits or not
-
Last prediction from Charlie was $1413M OS-China, last update in China is around $243M but we can expect few millions more (maybe 3 or 4) so maybe $1660M OS final run and $675M DOM for a $2,335B global cume.
-
It's fun because Titanic with re-release should finish its run around $675M-$680M, A2 should finish around $675M-$680M and AIW finished its run with $678M
-
If this re-release follows legs of avatar's re-release last year, we can hope for $40M INT and $15M DOM or $55M total ($20M less than Avatar re-release). That would give a total around $675M DOM total and $1575M INT for a global cume around $2250M

Hope for a bigger weekend for Avatar 2.
Tuesday should be big for Titanic - presales look really, really good - hoping for 30k on Tuesday alone (with a shot at 50k).
Yes Tuesday will be the bigger day of the re-release in every country
