‘Sonic The Hedgehog’ Taking Off With $55M+ 4-Day Opening
2nd Update: Sonic the Hedgehog is quickly looking like a hit, besting the top end of its $50M 4-day projection of $55M, off a $17M Friday and $45M 3-day. Great stuff.
5.9m Friday for BoP. Hoping for 4-day more around 20m+.

Whoa for Sonic. Any BoP #s?
-
$132m total for Mulan? Uhhhhh lolol no
-
It's a good #. 15m+ OD is something that would've been unimaginable with the first trailer.

Looks like BB4L will almost certainly reach $200M domestically! What an amazing run its having!!
Very impressive considering It Chapter 2 was the only film last year to be in the 200m range with Jumanji passing 300m soon

They expect BoP to make less than $2m for today and tomorrow with that estimate lol
-
The redesign really worked. Kudos, although I have no idea how that initial design passed. Had it stayed the same this would make less than what it's gonna do OW now.
-
If possible anyone know how BoP presales are for Friday? Hoping it does at least good for VD.
-
So what kind of drop does BoP need this holiday weekend to make 100m? Honestly at this point that's all I want but 3x is pretty rare for a comic book film so I doubt it.

Reviews did have an impact on Dolittle though.
Deadline was projecting 25-30 4-day and it did 28.

How much do you think reviews will affect the movie?
Reviews will have no impact on a movie like Sonic. Look at Doolittle.

35% increase on Saturday from true Friday. Better than I was expecting.
I think next weekend will be decent, hopefully.

These late legs on Jumanji are really impressive. Those are gonna come out in December for however many they decide to keep doing. I was surprised it was playing in one of the bigger theaters at my theater when I saw BoP last night.

Honestly was terrified Birds would have a tiny increase from true Friday so... at least there's that. Hoping for a solid Sunday drop. Would suck if it ends up in the 90s total but whatever.

Man of Steel is the best comic book movie of modern cinema, Joker aside.
Those are up there for me too. *shrug*

That Deadline article berating the movie as a "lazy R movie with F bombs", wtf? If this was doing well they wouldn't be saying that.

It's probably just me but I feel like Margot Robbie is overacting as HQ, which is kind of annoying.
She's actually terrific in Birds of Prey.

Next weekend should have a good weekend drop I feel. I just don't want this to do sub-100m. Jesus.
-
Suicide Squad's marketing campaign was flawless. It's really too bad the final product was so butchered.
Not gonna happen but Deadline's early estimates for Shazam were $4-4.4m and it ended up being $5.9m. Hoping it ends up at 5m+.
-
Joker finally passes Aquaman.

Hm so that 5 for $35 deal on Atom is gone on the app, wonder if it that did well
-
Sub-40 would be bad.
From what I remember Shazam was looking to not go as high for $5.9m in previews initially, hopefully the reviews get major walk-ins.

I got out of Fantasy Island and two guys with devices were asking people about the movie, Cinemascore people probably? Lol I remember I got interviewed once for Magnificent Seven.
Everyone in my theater I heard hated it btw lol
