  1. WB really should've not put Dune on HBO Max. A $50m opening for Dune would be a great headline. Tbh I don't really see how Dune would do much more than that if pandemic never happened. This opening is very good tbh as long as it doesn't drop below $35m for the weekend.
  2. an opening in ths 60s makes sense. Idk how on earth this was supposed to outopen MCU films lol but hopefully it can play well for the rest of the month.
  3. I didn't like him basically being blown up but the ending wasn't enough to ruin the movie, I thought it was very entertaining and the pacing actually didn't drag for me. I am keen to see who they get for the next round of films, I do hope everyone else comes back.
  4. Nah it means starting tomorrow with the code you get you can buy a ticket for any showtime any day (even Dolby/Imax) for $4, so you can use it on literally any show for NTTD. For example I'm seeing NTTD on Thursday night and will be using the code for a Dolby ticket for my friend.
  5. $4 T-Mobile Tuesday tickets tomorrow will give AMC tickets a kick.
  6. Taking Hotel Transylvania off the schedule and selling to Amazon was such a stupid move. Would've done well against Halloween Kills or Dune weekend.
  7. The Suicide Squad is a legitimately great film imo. Let There Be Carnage is less than mediocre imo. But yeah, different stroke. This is a huuuuge win for theaters so yay.
  8. From all the previous codes it works on Dolby/IMAX too
  9. With better writing this could've been more enjoyable. Hardy/Venom were enjoyable and had a few laughs. Everything else... not good.
  10. I am a little puzzled about DEH's audience score and Cinemascore. I guess maybe if you're familiar with the play you'll be warm to it. I thought it was pretty bad.
  11. ... the movie is pretty bad. Idk how the stage version; for me most musicals leave me feeling something but this was just unpleasant.
  12. Think May 20 would've worked if this had any chance to do well. Couple week after Thor and no humungous competition until Jurassic World.
  13. Seems like they're dumping this. Having this smack between two huge MCU movies I think this will flop big time.
  14. It would've been interesting to see how Malignant would've done without HBO Max. Most horror films recently have been doing $40m+ (even Don't Breathe 2 is looking to pass $30m) with solid multipliers, and Malignant is a pretty fun movie to see at a theater with a crowd, too bad it'll probably not even pass $15m.
  15. All of WB's films flopping is pretty sad considering the strategy seemed to work earlier this year with GvK and MK, in which they were kinda the champion for theaters. This should've ended when everything reopened, committing the whole year was just idiotic.
  16. I was on board with this. Some of the music cues and scenes made me laugh pretty hard. Idk for me the third act wasn't as shocking as I thought it'd be based on some reactions I saw but it certainly is memorable. Overall I enjoyed more than the average horror flick.
