Anyways....
Call me naive, but I think we'll have a deal reached either before a strike commences or shortly after. The studios are still reeling from the pandemic shut down and can't afford to take a hit from their union workers going on strike.

I think it's still possible for a deal to be reached before Monday.

Perhaps not. Impressivel pre sale numbers. We'll see how that translates to opening weekend.

Why?
Could be overshadowed by the news of the strike commencing. Especially since Marvel is part of the AMPTP.
-
Going to be really awkward if this has its premiere while the IATSE is potentially on strike.

This isn’t getting delayed.
It won't if the AMPTP comes to their senses.

Its not that simple. Some of the big studios like Apple/Netflix etc wont mind this last a while so that some studios fold and they can buy content for cheap. I doubt even Disney would want to budge. Worry is this will have huge ramifications for 2023 contracts(is that with writers and directors?). Yielding too much here means studios will lose even more over there.
I could see this last for a while while both sides will wait for other side to blink.
Won't Netflix and Apple also be negatively affected by the strike if a deal isn't met?
-
It's not just movies, though. These studios also need a constant production schedule for their streaming shows and this strike could hurt them in trying to grow their services. I'm hoping they realize this and that cooler heads give their workers what they want (and deserve).

Things are going to start moving pretty fast now that we have a set date.

Exactly, they are a weird toxic bunch. The average audience member is going into this expecting a good time without knowing or caring about the discourse about Chloe Zhao.

And now I'm suddenly interested in this..... brought back memories of the other movies.

Cynical contrary people on Twitter are gonna do what they do regardless. The average person isn't going to give a shit.

Nobody should put any stock into what film Twitter thinks, honestly.

ANYWAYS, I think it's really neat that the marketing campaign is in full effect, now.

it’s still a 250m with a mediocre opening and will be one of the lowest attended Bond film despite a huge marketing push
if they didn’t want to deal with the pandemic effects they should have delayed the release again
Another delay means spending more money that they'll eventually have to make back.

Not great numbers, but certainly not bad ones either. Hopefully, it will have strong legs.

Major Theater Company. We used to name the proper theater companies themselves, but changed to MTC to respect the companies and their privacy.
That makes sense.

I'm assuming it's short for My Theater Count?
-
What does MTC stand for?

Her film "First They Killed My Father" is also quite good.

I think I said it in old pages but medieval genre hasn't been profitable for decades. King Arthur and Robin Hood were the latest bombs. It works when it's mixed with high fantasy (LOTR, GOT) but there's no audience for historical epics set in Middle Ages. Scott's own Kingdom of Heaven was a bomb. The last success was Braveheart in the 90s.
Afraid so. Though given the heavy subject matter, this movie was never going to be a huge financial success. I do think it'll find its audience on home video, though.
