Final domestic haul: $37.7m
Final worldwide haul: $156.5m

All of this bending over and ass-kissing for nothing. Chapek's pissed off the LGBTQ community and ended up getting clowned by the right, anyways. This won't automatically torpedo his career, but I have to imagine that the BoD is getting increasingly impatient.

Real challenge is going to come in Georgia, where the legislature is onthe verge of passing a similiar law.
CHapek is going to be under major pressure to stop making Disney movies in Georgia.
He'll fold and donate to them, too. Well, unless Susan Arnold has some say here...

Somewhere, Michael Eisner is hearing about all this and laughing his ass off.

With the Human Rights Campaign giving their input, it's pretty clear that this isn't going away like Chapek would have hoped for.

Tbh,
My super dramatic hot take is this is the perfect way for Disney to toss Bob C out with the bathwater. There’s been a bunch of rumble lanes about how “quote” prickly he is to work with. But no real reason to axe him.
You let him fall on his sword like a sacrificial lamb, you bring Bob Iger back in to be a “in term CEO”, and then you act like none of this ever happened.
Their only other option is to hope this dies out by the end of the week.

It's only a matter of time before enough becomes enough.

Oh, he can be voted off the board at this meeting? Sweet, please do so, shareholders.
Maybe, maybe not... the bigger concern is that his tenure as CEO expires on February 28, 2023 pending the board giving him 3 more years.

I like Rises a lot. It was always gonna be tough to match The Dark Knight.

When did Chapek piss off Iger?
Bob Iger was embarrassed by how Chapek handled the ScarJo lawsuit.

Amazing. It took Michael Eisner two decades to become overwhelmingly disliked as the CEO of Disney. It only took Bob Chapek two years.

An updated list of all the people that Bob Chapek has pissed off as CEO of Disney (in just two years):
- Disney Parks Fans
- Everyone at Pixar
- Emily Blunt
- Emma Stone
- Scarlett Johansson
- Kevin Feige
- Bob Iger
- Most people within the LGBTQ community (many of whom work for Disney)

Really enjoyed this one. Looks like it should be coming in at around $130M this week.

This looks like a blast.

Looks like keeping reactions till now is a benefit. May have gotten lost in the shuffle last week, while now The Batman is still #1 trending on twitter.
Timing it so all the critic reviews drop today right before the fan screenings spread word of mouth further.

I just saw these promoted on Marvel’s official FB. How are they gonna promo this stuff but still not have a trailer out?!?Usually the official merchandise coincides with a trailer. Either sometime this week or the next.

My raw prediction is: $375 - 525M DOM. $800M - 1.2B WW.

Dr strange 2 will be the biggest hit of the summer
Doctor Strange will make lots of money, but never bet against how much people love dinosaurs.

I wonder if this was always the plan or if Chapek is doing this to keep Pixar from getting angrier at him?
