I guess I'm the only one here who thought Taika was terrific. The average audience member has no idea who he is so maybe they don't really care as much as you guys do.
This is by far my favourite film of the last two years.
Loved him in the movie.

Yahya is especially good at selling the character going insane.

When will we see a first trailer? My guess is with Eternals or Spider-Man.

1 week the trailer is at 19m views and 615k likes. Much better than the Shang-Chi 2nd trailer which settled at about 14m/410k before the recent boost due to the impending release. I think it can do 100 OW depending on the Covid situation in November.
If Cass are down and vaccination rates are up, it's certainly possible.

I have a hard time believing this cost $80M.
Where you get this from?
$60 million, not $80 million. Though even I'm having difficulty remembering where I heard that.

I tend to avoid Spider-Man fans on twitter they're annoying. Those and Bucky stans
Spider-Man Twitter is way worse, in my opinion.

There's nothing to be curious about for most people yet. I don't think there was a lot of curiosity in Jurassic World either before the marketing started and that did fine.
Another movie that came years after two divisive sequels.

Let's try less than a quarter
It also cost almost double what Conjuring 3 did.

I will not be surprised if this movie makes less than half of what The Conjuring 3 makes.

Yeah i remember the rumours that test screening for Candyman was bad lol.
Now i'm curious for Malignant. This one also have terrible test screenings but James Wan also told is a very different movie than the typical horror he is known for. Let's see if it will be another case of a decent movie that people on test screenings dislike because it's different.
Could be a case of rumors or that James Wan fixed the movie.

I suspect the trailer will be attached to Malignant or Cry Macho.

Maybe next time...

Apparently not.

It's not a 39 percent drop.
It's 34.
Absolutely insane!

It’s more refreshing than odd for me. I hope we go into this knowing as little as possible. By all means release a trailer, but keep it vague. Remember how the trailers for the original used the “nobody can be told what the Matrix is, you have to see it for yourself” line to create mystery, I hope we see something similar here.
I admire that they're creating an air of mystery to the movie, but there's probably tons of people outside of the bubble that don't even know this movie is coming out.

Really odd that we've seen and heard so little about this movie 4 months before release.

Xmas day release on D+ incoming.
With families still not quite coming back to theaters and children still not being vaccinated, this scenario is looking more likely.

I think this bodes well for Shang-Chi. Strong reviews and a lack of competition.

39% drop from week 2. $17M.

Hoping they drop something at CinemaCon.

Love the choreography in that clip. Reminds me of the fight scenes in the Matrix.

Lack of competition, theatrical exclusivity, and appeal for families? I'm thinking it just might also overperform.
