It is pretty great since it seems pretty widely panned, a third film in a row and the day and date release.
Freddy and Jason could easily do bigger than this will end up doing..
Kind warning to people, there is a particular sequence (and this isn't a spoiler) where it's really photosensitive and I would definitely urge people who are sensitive to know. It lasts for about 30 seconds.
I think Universal/ theatre chains should have a warning
Keep in mind that Ends previews started at 5pm, while Kills was at 7.
It looks like it's headed for a similar preview number, so probably about $45-47 million for the weekend.
Honestly, the reviews have started out a little better than I expected.
Universal keeping the embargo so close to the release and putting it to Peacock, I was expecting it to be in the 10s on RT
Does Halloween Ends still have a shot at $50m for it's OW like Deadline/ Variety are predicting?
Pre-sales seem fantastic for Friday in my area, but kinda meh for tonight.
It will be interesting to see if Smile's overperformance has an impact on Halloween Ends next weekend...
I believe Ends numbers could be dependent on early WOM
Halloween Ends actually looks pretty strong to me.
At quick glance, it seems like ticket sales are doing pretty well.
Is a $50 million OW possible? Less competition, IMAX (and other PLF's) and being marketed as the big finale.
It will be interesting to see if ENDS can match KILLS opening weekend numbers. This one has more PLF's attached, the "finale" factor and less competition. Although, the bad reception from Kills could hurt it.
I didn't mean for it to come across as annoying. But, to say this is a "random" news event especially to Canada, UK is unrealistic. This is likely going to be the news story of the year.
It doesn't seem completely impossible for studios to stop marketing for a couple days out of respect for an icon.
It's hard to gain perspective of what the American reaction is to the Queen's death (Canadian here)
Is it likely that marketing for films coming up quick (The Woman King, DWD, Smile, Bros) will be halted or will they continue as usual?
Something I noticed... it looks some theatres are starting to go back to more limited hours.
A couple Cineplex theatres aren't showing Wednesday and Thursday showtimes for next week..
