  1. Spider-Man: No Way Home is actually trending better than I expected here. One of my local theatres is only giving it the smallest theatre but it's almost full. I wouldn't be stunned to see a 4 day with over $10 million
  2. Probably the most likely reason. If a protest happened, it would make more sense if it was just Regal or AMC, not both.
  3. The September 3rd closure seems to be for everywhere... Regal/ AMC, etc What's going on?
  4. Beast is looking strong. With the very limited competition, I think a $20m OW is possible.
  5. Exactly. It was still a hit for an R Rated original film. The success of Get Out and Us created high expectations. This is still a win for theatres. To be honest, how much of the general audience even really know who Jordan Peele is beside his films?
  6. True. But "The Last Jedi" and "Fallen Kingdom" weren't exactly huge hits with fans either. "Rise of Skywalker" and "Dominion" didn't take that big of drops from those movies.
  7. The next couple months are going to be bare with almost certainly no movie opening over $30 million. Halloween Ends is going to be the first "major" release in more than two months, when it releases on October 14th and people will be ready for a high profile flick. Universal will no doubt ride on "Their Saga Ends".. and it will benefit from limited competition. I think a $70 million OW is certainly possible.
  8. I'm surprised they wouldn't hold off until after Labour Day. I can see Paramount doing a re-release over the long weekend.
  9. Nope is holding much better than I thought it would. I wasn't confident with a mixed audience reception.
  10. Kind of an odd question, but is it possible that the major chains close some theatres with the lack of product until October when things pick up again?
  11. Could it really be until Halloween Ends (not till October 14th) for a movie to get over $30 million for OW? Big yikes.
  12. I have a feeling that movie theatres are in for a really rough couple months. There's only a total of 5 movies that are opening wide in August (Bullet Train, Bodies Bodies Bodies, Fall, Beast, The Invitation). Bullet Train could reach $30 million OW, but everything else could easily struggle to reach $10 million. September is also bleak with only Barbarian, The Woman King, Pearl, Smile, Don't Worry Darling and Bros. None of those will go over $20 million OW.
  13. If this makes over US's opening weekend numbers this weekend, Jordan Peele will be able to make whatever movie he wants next.
  14. I know trailer views doesn't connect to box office numbers But, is 1.8 million viewers low for Halloween Ends (uploaded about 48 hours ago)?
  15. Is 1.8 million viewers bad for the amount of trailer views so far? (Uploaded roughly 48 hours ago)
  16. I really hope NOPE reaches at least $50M OW this weekend.. Walk-Ups don't seem as strong as anticipated..
  17. Kind of a serious question. Could the Monkeypox outbreak lead to a COVID kind of shutdown for movie theatres?
  18. Okay, I now this doesn't directly relate to Box Office but could impact WOM if true. This isn't actually a shot from the Minions film right? https://twitter.com/24framesofnick/status/1543068982068092930?s=20&t=rxE6CVI90d6WjzHJTFDiKQ
  19. This is a edited shot, right? Not actually in the film? https://twitter.com/24framesofnick/status/1543068982068092930?s=20&t=rxE6CVI90d6WjzHJTFDiKQ
  20. Anyone else kinda think NOPE is looking to underperform? Ticket sales seem kinda slow- I feel like it will fall closer to Get Out's OW than Us
  21. Even though Black Phone's performance is solid, it does seem like horror isn't as strong as it used to be From 2016 and forward, it seemed like everything broke out (except for a few). Now, It seems like everything underperforms (except for a few) Jason Blum made a good point. The future of original horror IP is uncertain.
