    Some people (including me) just said that the pre-sales for their theatres didn't start out all that amazing.

    So... what are your predictions (as of right now) for Jurassic World: Dominion and Lightyear? I'm going with: JW: $150 million Lightyear: $75 million

    Lightyear hasn't sold any pre sale tickets yet. I could see it underperforming. Maybe $60 million OW.

    This is going to sound like a really weird and strange thing to say, but I'm new to the Box Office game. Is Universal in a really bad state (especially if Jurassic underperforms) The 355, Marry Me, Ambulance, Firestarter have all bombed. Could they be in trouble?

    It will be interesting to see when a trailer for this releases. Attached to The Black Phone seems logical and in line with the last two.

    I agree that Sidney's story is over. Where else can the character go? But, It will be interesting to see how much of a box office hit it could face.

    Let's also keep in mind that the Jurassic movies aren't as pre-sale heavy.

    I seriously don't get where the $125m tracking is coming from. I still think $150m+ is certain.

    Fair enough. I don't think $125 million is happening though. I would be shocked with less than $150 million.

    If Dominion does well this weekend, they are in good shape. Minions, Nope, Black Phone, Halloween Ends all could be huge hits.

    Would a $125 million debut be that bad though? Fallen Kingdom was $135+ million. Obviously, it wouldn't be massive but I think it would be decent enough.

    I agree that Universal hasn't been doing well. But, if this gets to over $100 million it would probably still be okay. They have a strong chance for the rest of the year though too. Minions, Nope, Halloween Ends, etc.

    This is going to sound really stupid, but could Paramount be forced to pull Maverick from theatres over the lawsuit?

    Was Downton really that big of a flop? It will surely end up being profitable. Just, a disappointment in my opinion.

    What's the lowest Dominion could open to next weekend and still be a hit?

    I think we can throw out the $200m OW. I'm going with above Fallen Kingdom and around $150-170 million OW right now. It will be impacted by Top Gun's massive overperformance, but still be a big hit.

    And to think some people thought this movie wasn't even going to hit $50 million on it's OW. This is absolutely amazing. I would be shocked to see a larger than 50% second weekend drop.

    I definitely think Dominion will be impacted by Top Gun's massive overperformance, mixed reviews, etc. I still feel like beating Fallen Kingdom's OW is a foregone conclusion at this point though.

    The Black Phone looks promising for a return to horror movies in 2022 (outside Scream). I'm thinking $20M+ OW looks realistic.

    So what do we think Dominion will open to? I'm guessing $130 million ish. TG2 is sucking the air right now, but it should still be fine.
