  1. think an anime re-adaptation would be the way to go, with the best animation in the business and with lots of effort put into the dubbing; there are 7 sagas between db and dbz, you could easily get 2 or 3 trilogies out of that
  2. After The Marvels posted a franchise low for the Marvel Cinematic Universe of $46.1M, isn’t Songbirds and Snakes also a misfire? Not necessarily, and at a $100M-plus production cost, 65% of which is funded by foreign sales, with another $20M+ in German tax credits, the Lionsgate Francis Lawrence-directed movie is structured completely differently financially than the $200M The Marvels. Lionsgate has largely covered their nut and exposure in foreign territory licensing, materially participating after their partners recover their costs. Songbirds & Snakes will be profitable, with a domestic end results between $120M-$130M. Still, there didn’t seem to be any kind of urgency here on behalf of fans to reignite new life into Hunger Games. source: military
  3. i'd read the books, and seen 3 out of the 4 movies, and even if I thought the catching fire movie was good, I remember finding the franchise a bit lame; amusing to now see myself cheering for its success and excited to watch it next week
  4. millions I just grabbed Eternals's Wednesday and divided the marvel's Wednesday by it (1.5/1.9) and multiplied that by its 5-day to get 9.2
  5. they can probably do something about concession prices, but unless admissions tank I just cant see them dropping prices, best they can probably do is maintain them at the current level for some time
  6. the scott pilgirm "anime" was pretty good, rough at first and there are some aspects of it that never really work, but it really finds its footing starting on ep 4 and ends up a very fun time I find the movie to be just ok, this is a big improvement on it
  7. whats the ceiling for the 3-day and 5-day off a sub 1.7 million Wednesday? talking about the marvelous the marvels
  8. maybe just my imagination, but it sure feels like everything is getting big trailer views there days
  9. dont think something like that is even possible, probably a dreadful b+ instead what are some high profile kid's movies that have gotten b- or below btw?
  10. flahs did 20.5 million domestic after 2nd weekend and 39 os after 2nd weekend seems like best case scenario here which would still only get it 220
  11. someone will come up with a new gimmick and eventually do it if the tom cruise space movie gets off the ground there probably exists a path for it to become #1 all time
  12. as soon as italy began locking down municipalities (third week of February) every studio should have realized what was about to happen
  13. kinda crazy that studios were releasing movies up till middle of march in 2020 cant believe disney let onward release, would have expected them all to vacate the calendar by mid february
  14. they are? sure theyre punishing sequels, but is there any evidence of them rewarding original movies? barbie and Oppenheimer could very well just end up being a one time meme
