>Good. Good. Now let's see if it can take on Dune 2 OW. WW is nearly a lock, DOM be close, US closer.
my mistake
read that as Good. Good. Now let's see if it can take on Dune 2 WW. WW is nearly a lock, DOM be close, US closer.
assuming he was serious, why did jatinder's prediction that gvk could come close to dunc 2 domestically and was very likely to beat it ww not come to pass?
It wont come to pass because it wont have 3x legs, but is there a reason he expected it to have those kinds of legs?
a movie like this having great legs doesnt sound too farfetched, if 1 is still making some serious money the week 2 comes out, will wb ask theaters to pull 1?
Costner seems like the kind of guy who'd appreciate a robust theatrical window for his passion project; are they just not going to release this on digital before the 2nd comes out?
A digital release a week before 2 comes out sounds cute, I can see it backfiring
I might have seen foreign movies with less than a thousand reviews on imdb, but I've somehow never seen any of the alien movies
1 and 2 seem like must-watches, and I've heard enough dissenting voices defending Prometheus to be interested, that's everything I should watch, right? Is there any benefit to watching Prometheus before 1 and 2?
will the songs be dubbed for international audiences? wonder if that might limit it's gross a bit, since the first one relied quite a bit on europe
joker and Harley singing "singing in the rain" = cool and possible hook
jokey and harlet singing "cantando bajo la lluva"/"chanter sous la pluie"/"雨に唄えば"/"Singen im Regen" = less cool and less of a hook
the quality of being "try-hardy" does not necessarily imply it's trying to emulate a specific something
the scene of Harley's lipsticks on the visitor window forming the Joker's smile was certainly too much
the first movie's first trailer, now that was an amazing trailer! must have seen it 20+ times the week it released
found this one to be just ok, and it actually gave me something to worry about: that todd might think he made an all-timer with the first joker and what that might mean for this one's writing
looks ok, I guess, but I really wanted to see a musical sequence in action
the callback to the stair dance (they both do the exact same kick dance move) is embarrassing and has me worried that they might be taking itself too seriously; all the nominations might have gone to Philips's head
without the absurdity and the humor that is derived from it, joker is a bang average scorcese-wannabe crazy person drama; if they are really going to start treating the staircase scene as this super strong dramatic moment worth referencing as anything more than a fun/funny moment, then I think they've gotten the wrong message from joker's success
saw Jodorowsky's dune, pretty good
I know its not as simple as that; but considering the way some are reacting to this movie (I've seen some "best sci-fi movie ever" type comments), imagine how people might have reacted to a Dune adaptation that achieved everything Jodorowsky wanted to achieve
impossible not to think about it when the director guy was speaking about assembling a team of "spiritual warriors" to change the world
the plot seems somewhat straightforward, does anyone know what leads people to say it has no commercial prospects? outside of the gimmick with the audience member which probably wont happen outside of festivals and if it does it'll just be some messing around with the aspect ratio
