Well, I'm not going to start saying $180M+ is pathetic but it would certainly be unexpected given the circumstances. We will wait and see how things go. My Friday presales tracking from yesterday would point to $55M or more.
Wonder if it's even going to hit a billion at this point.

Deadline's early number is not encouraging but it matches up almost perfectly with @ZackM 130PM update against NWH (using the same 4% adjustment in ATP as previews).
As I recall, @el sid's Sunday update also seemed to point to $40M or so. That would be in line. Unfortunately we'd be looking at an OW around Incredibles 2.
Omg...what a pathetic OW.
Specially now that most people started taking that 200M OW for granted.
Can already see the flop narrative. Will be interesting to see the John Campea show.
What a huge disappointment.

Wanda's storyline kinda gave me Dany from GoT final season vibes... like I think the progression from Wandavision can make sense but it just felt off in this movie
I was disappointed with the movie tbh. Need to process it more and I've previously planned to see it again so hopefully my opinion isn't worse.
The mid credits scene... zzz not Eternals having better post credit scenes.
Did Eternals have a better mid credits scene?
I think it depends on each person.
I think they both do the same thing. Which is: tease a celebrity joining the MCU. Unless you're talking about the scene itself.
For me, Charlize Theron joining the MCU is a much more exciting prospect than Harry Styles. And Charlize just looked GORGEOUS.
I honestly don't care or like about Styles music carrer. But I do get a feeling that there's a potential movie star there.

I honestly would prefer for this to release in 2023.
No specific reason. Just a... personal preference.

So this will likely be a late 2023 project right?
Probably November.
Or 2024

I think that... if this has as good reviews as I think it will have, this could go over 200M OW pretty easily.

I think this is setting up a Wanda/Scarlett Witch solo movie.

Kraninski Reed is such a basic choice, sigh. I really wanted a POC Richards like William Jackson Harper would’ve killed it.
The massive outrage and backlash that a POC Reed would case is really not worth it IMO.

The best indicator for WOM among the GA will always be the percentage of how much/how little a movie drops in its run. This is especially helpful after the 2nd weekend, since many well-liked Hype movies suffer a big drop in the sophomore weekend as we all know. But beginning with the 3rd weekend, the picture becomes a lot clearer.
Scores and ratings can be manipulated. The raw numbers cant.
EDIT: Nevermind. I'm dumb.

I think for big blockbusters, IMDB is fine and most of times, it falls in line to what we see (just recently, Morbius and Uncharted) . The only cases where it could be misleading is on review bombing situations. But those are mostly reported and noticeable.
For more author movies, no.

If we have DS2 opening over 200M and TG:M over 100M, that makes up for a FANTASTIC summer start.
-
I guess it's now a fight to that 200M OW...
Let's fight bruh

Should I fear DS2 billion chances?

Bruh. Stop lying. That's the Halloween episode. Maybe you're interpreting it wrong.
What you say it happens it only happens in the last episode.

Looks like things really went off the rails. 1 week ago we were maybe looking at 215-230M OW
Now we're looking at a 180-190M OW. So sad and disappointing. Not even low 200M.
Hopefully Feige gets better writers.
Waldron needs to go. Idk what happened to this movie.
They promised so much and delivered to little. The movie shouldn't have the title it has.
Wonder how much they bogged down the scope of the movie with the massive reshoots. And why they did it?
I think the Universe is getting to big, to many shows and storylines, it's getting overwhelming. And today it totally feels quantity over quality.
Miss the times when it was the movies only. God what happened to the good writers Feige used to have?
I also fear they may be pushing some agendas in some very eye rolling ways. I mean, they are. But I think... I mean, it all comes down to the writing. They just do it in such cringe and poorly written way. I think Feige doesn't know how to make new good female characters. Other than Layla. Until she became an avatar... felt to rushed and forced imo. I think it's becoming so jarring. Even I am starting to feel that. Me. A guy that has argued and still do with the pathetic "woke" crowd. It's becoming a bit difficult not to see this...and to ignore it. It doesn't feel natural. Like... how all of a sudden there will be LGBTQ characters in almost every project?
Btw. In MoM, there was TO MANY JOKES. Very poorly placed. In places where there shouldn't be forced jokes. And this continuing on doubling down on the formula and trying to be a director authentic movie just makes it all a mess. Eternals and now this. Feige just just keep the formula because that's when the MCU shines. Not when it tries to mix directors visions that just bogs everything down so that he can say they have a artistic vision.
And my fear is that... I stop getting excited for the MCU. Thor 4 NEEDS to be good. Ms Marvel smells like another trimmed down 4 hour movie and called a TV show that will be disappointing. But I still feel the need to sit down for it even tho I'm not excited.
And they are making us invest our time in these mid shows to then take a shit on them.
DS2 was so poorly written.
This is nothing next to the Steve Rogers and Tony Stark era. The only Phase 4 projects that I found to be legit good, were Shang-Chi and No Way Home. They felt like really well executed CBM movies.
