  1. Seems likely, though I wanna see it's legs next week first before make a definite answer. Inception is the bigger hurdle imo, I think it will beat Inception domestically but fall short of it worldwide.
  2. I see it pretty likely getting into Picture tbh, feels like an easy pick. I think it's less likely to get something like Director though.
  3. DH1 is gorgeously shot as well. Some people lament some of the color grading of the later HP films but Eduardo Serra goes ham in the final two films in terms of shooting it. And like you said, it's remarkably intimate and it's rare to see a franchise film (let alone a franchise film aimed mainly at teens) be so bleak.
  4. I agree to an extent, Dune 2 is either going to be a Two Towers or a Return of the King at the Academy. Thinking maybe more Two Towers. Dune Messiah feels like it could be a Return of the King though.
  5. Finally been able to see the numbers. Barbie wasn't able to quite get to the highest WB opening like I was predicting but still a fantastic debut for it and the best 3-day opening of the year. You love to see it. Oppenheimer also with the highest non-Batman opening of Nolan's career is great to see too, guy is officially untouchable and a one of a kind draw in the realm of Hollywood right now. MI7 completely collapsed, largest drop for the series ever. Disappointing to say the least but at least Part Two is guaranteed, I will take comfort in the fact that at least the movie was very good quality and it's international numbers are already above Indy 5 so that should be good for it.
  6. Thank you for bringing this up, I did the same thing as well and broadcast order worked fine to me. The original intent for TCW was it to feel like the war serials/news that you would see before a movie in the 40s and usually those were also out of order or random. The broadcast helped make it feel like that, even if it meant stuff like the first half of Season 3 jumps around a lot. That being said, chronological order does recontextualize a lot and it's worth a watch through at least once like that.
  7. Jesus, MI7 is just crumbling. Paramount needs to be better with release dates, they have had a solid year in terms of quality - MI7 is amazing, D&D was shockingly great, Transformers is actually pretty good, Scream VI is great - but outside of Scream most of their films either suffered weak marketing, bad release timing, or both. I bet they are praying TMNT breaks out.
