  1. It’s weird how rave reviews came out and then sales have turned downwards (after a small initial bump)
  2. Agree that Butler and Chalamet are most likely, followed by Zendaya, then Ferguson. I think it’s pretty unlikely for Pugh
  3. Hunger games BOSS made 945k yesterday, down 20% from last Wednesday
  4. Agreed. As someone who saw the movie yesterday, I expect poor WOM tbh. Nobody in my group liked it (and we all loved Oppenheimer and KOTFM)
  5. Just saw this movie, and it was kind of terrible tbh. Nobody in my group liked it i don’t feel like I learned anything about the character of Napoleon. Phoenix feels super miscast, and the characterization of Napoleon felt extremely inconsistent. I’m not surprised that a much longer directors cut is coming- it sure feels like a lot of important stuff was cut out of the 2.5 hour version tbh
  6. YA fell off because the hunger games books and movies were legitimately good, and then a bunch of mediocre knockoffs came and turned people off of YA.
  7. RT audience score for the hunger games is 90%, and 4.5/5 stars. Maybe positive WOM will help it
  8. I did notice a number of the negative reviews were from comic book movie- focused sites, from people who liked the marvels. Some of the reviews thought I saw thought the movie was too serious.
  9. The reviews seem genuinely divisive (as opposed to something like the marvels where the reviews are generally meh). A lot of the positive reviews say it’s the best (or 2nd best) movie in the series, while a lot of the negative reviews have issues with the villain protagonist and how dark the story is. The book was divisive in a similar way, and the movies have been very faithful so far. Im curious to see the audience reviews. It has a 3.7 on letterboxd so far, which is tied with catching fire for the highest of the series.
  10. When does the embargo lift for social media reviews and for actual reviews?
  11. I could see Suzanne writing another prequel (although Ballad is a one-and-done story, but there are so many different prequel options tbh), but I don’t see her ever writing a sequel to the original series tbh.
  12. Mockingjay has such a definitive (perfect imo) ending. I don’t really see Suzanne wanting to mess with that by bringing Jennifer Lawrence back in another book.
  13. Idk, she easily could have made money doing books/movies about Haymitch’s games or finnick’s games, but she’s said she would only write another book if she has a strong thematic idea, not a money grab that doesn’t add to the themes of her worldbuilding. She’s not the type to churn out cheap books tbh
  14. The social media embargo has just lifted for the hunger games movie. Extremely positive from what I’ve seen, some calling it the best of the series.
  15. I think the hunger games social media embargo lifts tomorrow at 1PM ET. While the review embargo lifts Nov 9th at 2PM ET
  16. Does this indicate that the strike may not be close to ending. Because what would be the point of this if the strike was gonna come to an end in the next few days?
  17. The movie needs to be long if they want to at all be faithful to the book (which the previous movies were). This book is twice as long as the other books and warrants a longer movie imo
