  1. I didn't even know who she was in Bridesmaids until I looked her up to be completely baffled. What in the hell did she do in that movie other than be fat and obnoxious? She played the part well, and got a few laughs, but she was a one-note character that isn't hard to pull off. The idea that she is getting Supporting Actress nods is absurd. I mean, as good as the movie was, nobody had an awards-worthy performance except MAYBE Wiig, and even that's a stretch.

  2. Dragon Tattoo's chances of a nod are fucked. It's getting literally zero awards attention from critics. I can just hope I enjoy it at this point...

All I can see it getting attention for at this point is some technical nods, Cinematography, and Score.

  3. All the annoying children are now off the show, I don't really know who to pull for. The woman is a great singer, but she doesn't really captivate me. I love that the rocker guy made it this far without even almost being eliminated, but I can't really picture him winning. It would be hilarious and awesome if Marcus went on to win, since he is now the definitive underdog.Overall, this was a great episode. Marcus and Rachel's performances were both fantastic, and holy hell at the ending. It was almost such a cool twist and so ironic that it could be in a movie. Besides Rachel being annoyingly manipulative because she's just this adorable little girl with the voice of an angel, who has to sweet talk the judges and tear up during her performance, you had Randy back up Marcus, giving him a bit of momentum, and then Paula and Simon go with Rachel, and the entire crowd chanting her name, and Nicole just couldn't send Marcus home, so she passed it to America, who were clearly 100% behind Rachel, and then in a a shocking twist, America voting put Rachel in last! Marcus advances! And of course, her whole shocked expression and kneel down into tears was gold.

  4. I can't read this thread as I'm afraid it's filled with spoilers, but I just started watching this, finished Season 1 recently. Like the other CBS sit-coms, it has a killer app marketable character who gets plenty of laughs and not a ton of depth (Barney), but unlike those other shows, the supporting cast is just as strong and the show has a good overlapping storyline. One of the best sitcoms since the 90s.

  5. Brad Pitt was the best part of the movie, followed by the writing.Hill was fine, but he certainly wasn't the best part of the movie, and he sure as hell wasn't Oscar worthy, and even if he had been, he'd never be nominated because he's Jonah fucking Hill. It wasn't even his best performance, which goes to Cyrus, and then maybe Superbad.

  6. The Academy are only sent score promos of around five or six tracks so album length is fairly irrelevant.

Well, would you look at that. Learn something new every day.I need to catch up on scores on Rhapsody, what would you say are the best ten so far? (You seem to be a reliable source when it comes to this sort of thing)
  7. I think for these types of shows, the artists never really write many songs for their debut album. Look at past winners from American Idol.

True, but at least an adult can handle it better, and maybe sustain a successful career, as Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, and Chris Daughtry have. These kids will make an album and fall off the face of the earth.
  8. Simon's the only judge on these shows I ever take remotely seriously, and even he is an old man predisposed to dislike any good thing just because he's stubborn and doesn't want to like it.And it really pisses me off how the crowds always boo the judges whenever they say something negative. Seriously, it's their fucking jobs to criticize them so they can improve their act because they obviously aren't perfect, stop mindlessly loving every performer.
