North London and the weather ain't that great. Overcast, though not yet raining. Forecast for tomorrow is better. But as always with the weather here, it's very much a "well, just look out the window and the assume it will be worse in a few minutes" situation.

At a quick glance for tomorrow at my local:

Meg 2 has a handful of seats in the evening showings and 4DX doing the best. Expect decent walk-ups here.

Barbie pre-sales have slowed WAAAAY down. Maybe ten tickets sold for early afternoon then mostly empty into the evening. I do think we're past the "must plan ahead and see this" phase, with people leaving it more last minute to book or just walking up.

TMNT has nothing sold in the evening, with only a handful in the afternoon.

Oppie still doing well in IMAX, even with morning showing. Afternoon and evening will probably end up at 60% occupancy or above. Standard showings are about on par with Meg 2.

    Barbenheimer will continue to rule.

Interesting for Barbie, every cinema I’m looking at still looks very busy this evening. Vue Stratford will sell out all evening shows from 6 onwards until about 10.

Edit: just saw you were talking about tomorrow. I agree it is less pre sales heavy, but think walk ups are very strong still.

Also I just looked at Meg 2 pre sales, some cinemas looks very busy for it. Should be a decent opening.

My local Cineworld has 3 TMNT showings after six pm on Saturday, including one at 21.50. Not a single ticket sold. Seems like some pretty bad scheduling there. Feel like the 10.20 am showing of Oppenheimer could and should have gone to TMNT and Oppie could have gotten an extra evening time. Or even give a screening to MI7, which is now down to 3 showings on Saturday. Indy also down to just one showing.

Vue Stratford has shows at 11:45pm and 12:15am for TMNT. And that’s today. Honestly ridiculous. They probably end up being cancelled unless someone actually ends up booking that.

    Wednesday

    Barbie £3.14m (£57.06m to date)

    Opp £1.68m (£32.4m)

    TMNT £567k

    Elemental £458k (£12.9m)

    MI7 £440k (£21.48m)

    Incredible yet again.

The rain yesterday definitely helped, but looks like Barbie will be at or just under £60m going into the weekend. The weather on Saturday looks absolutely diabolical so should give a boost once more. £8m third weekend looks possible.

£6m third weekend for Oppenheimer looks likely so could hit £40m by Sunday.

Great weekdays for holdovers too, Elemental is getting a very nice boost from holidays and rain. Looks like a flat weekend is in store and I can’t see it missing £20m at this rate.

  4. Good to also see some other milestones. MI7 is past £20m and on its way to a franchise best total. Across the Spidverse has also passed the £30m mark and is still making decent money more than 2 months after release. Indiana Jones, although down on its predecessor will pass the £20m mark very soon. Hopefully Elemental can also leg it past £20m with 4 more weeks still of school holidays.

    Weekend

    Barbie £13.22m (-29%)

    Oppenheimer £8.22m (-25%)

    MI7 £1.83m (-37%)

    Elemental £1.17m (-18%)

    Talk To Me £562

Probably said this about 20 times now, but insane! Barbie and Oppenheimer must have stayed more or less flat or had tiny decreases on Sunday?

    Great for holdovers too.

Wonder if Barbie can make another £10m on weekdays this week.

That's because the weather is a lot worse than yesterday!

The weather looks like absolute shit over the next week again, it’s embarrassing that this can even be considered summer.

Cinemas are going to be raking it in, expecting some great weekdays again.

    Sat Barbara £4.6m, Robert £3.1m

Incredible for both again, but especially Opp’s Saturday bump. Both films looking at around 30% drops from last weekend which is insane after their monster weekdays. The latter could be less than 30% if Sunday is very strong.

Something very unusual in my area today, seems to be less busy for Barbie this afternoon than afternoon for all of the last midweek.

This is common in summer holidays. Kind of makes sense, more kids and parents go to the cinema in the week, and people that work are more likely to go on weekends. Weekends make up for it with stronger late night business than weekdays.

Having said this, I just checked Vue Stratford and it looks packed throughout the entire afternoon, with most shows near to sellout. Very similar to last weekend.

This has to be the craziest market for Barbie and there are tons of them. Sheer BO numbers its doing is ginormous. Even if weekend has no boost its still 12m 2nd weekend. Hopefully it does boost a bit at least on Sat/Sun.

Yeah, I think Friday stays relatively flat to the rest of the weekdays, and not much more movement on Saturday/Sunday.

If today is £4m, maybe £13m 2nd weekend is possible.

    Yep, Wednesday box office:

    Barbie £4.21m

    Opp £2.216m

    MI7 £553k

    Elemental £432k

    Indy £172k

Lost for words, Barbie is without a doubt having one of the most impressive opening weeks ever. I can’t see how it doesn’t get into the top 20 all time chart now (currently Rogue One £66m) as it’ll only be around £20m away after the weekend. Who knows how high up the all time chart it can climb.

Oppenheimer weekdays are being overshadowed by Barbie but they are also incredible. It’s going to make a decent run for £50m.

Nice to see summer weekdays kick in for Elemental. Can leg it past £20m.

    Barbie £4.06m

    Opp £2.09m

    Simply stunning weekday numbers.

So around £26.5m up to Tuesday for Barbie. At this rate it’ll be going into the weekend with around £33m, so could be closer to the £45m mark than £40m by Sunday.

Oppenheimer looking at hitting £25m by a Sunday.

In the Uk Barbie is doing in prospective the best result of all the globe...as I said seems the kinda perfect comedy the british love in the summer? Like mamma mia and similar?.

I mean at this rate i'm low if i say 35M£ at the end of the second weekend right?

Barbie should be nearing the £40m mark by Sunday. Depending on how good the hold is could even be over.

Oppenheimer I think will be past £25m by Sunday.
