  1. The backstory was in. So were the memories in HBP. He even wrote a death scene for Tonks/Lupin.The directors cut those, not Kloves. He also wrote the funeral.I can never say I wish Colombus hadn't directed the first installment, because he got us the most incredible cast ever.
  2. No, I wasn't...Your love PoA had the worst omission by far in the series (the backstory of the Maraduers).
  3. I've just been called bitchy by fishnets. I think I've heard it all. Make no mistake, I can be bitchy at times...but coming from you, sweetheart? Really?
  4. I still never understood the people who say this. Most of my friends haven't read the books but understand the films very well. But, whatever. Commence ddddeeee and him echoing what you said.I'm almost starting to feel like the Potter series is underrated. I swear, they're blockbusters that care about characters and plot more than any action scenes.
  5. How many people does Cinemascore ask to gauge reactions? I'm doubting it after reading CoS got an A+.
  6. Star Wars doesn't top Potter as a worldwide phenomenon. The books and films doing what they did in fifteen years far surpasses what Star Wars did in that time frame. Plus, Potter got a ton of kids into reading. That in itself is a phenomenon. Fucking airhead.
  7. Obviously it isn't, because nothing tops Potter as a worldwide phenomenon (the books + films doing what they did in fifteen years). Plus, Potter had the biggest influence on our generation. The Hobbit comes from a very different era, but its wide appeal is not to be doubted.
  8. Sounds stupid. Having Superman (invincible) makes it even less relatable.
  9. Maybe I'll enjoy the film more on my second viewing, but right now, it's nothing more than an entertaining flick.
  10. How many times do you have to say "sorry that you didn't"? Sweetheart, plenty of the people who loved The Avengers admit there was very little emotional connection to the characters. The action, humor, and visuals was what got them to enjoy it.
  11. Oh, and TDKR trailer got a huge reaction at my theater. Lots of applause. More than the end of The Avengers. The biggest applause came from the infamous Hulk/Loki scene.
  12. No one is saying the film required depth. It needed heart, and it didn't have much of it. Witty banter isn't heart. It doesn't make you feel for them.
  13. TH1 is definitely beating Avengers worldwide. Sorry if you guys don't see it, but it will. It won't win domestic, of that I am sure of and anyone thinking it will is just kidding themselves. It'll have a guaranteed decrease in admissions, but still large enough to maybe get to $480m. $500m is a slight possibility. TH1 will probably have 20-30% decrease in admissions overseas from the developed markets, and that's understandable considering there was actually a very slight decrease with the LoTR films. But a 20% to 30% drop still gives it gargantuan numbers in developed markets, and the new markets will make it exceed $1b overseas.
  14. I'm curious to see how it'll do in Japan. It won't come close to the monstrous business the Spider-Man movies do there, but definitely bigger than IM2.
