BK007
Pixar: 2010: Toy Story 3 2011: Cars 2 2012: Brave 2013: Monsters Uni 2014: none 2015: Inside Out & Good Dinosaur (unconfirmed) 2016: Finding Dory 2017: Toy Story 4 5/8 films will have been sequels. If Good Dinosaur doesn't come out, which is still possible, it's 5/7. At least Disney has Zootopia and Moana coming out in 2016. Original films are dying and Pixar ever too keen to keep on keeping on. Don't forget we have Incredibles 2 and Cars 3 in the pipeline with only some probably going to be cancelled Dia de los Muertos project on the cards. But, hell, it may only drop in 2017 earliest, three years from now for people to forget Book of Life. Pixar's record will be, optimistically, 7/11 sequels in 8 years, or pessimistically, 7/9 sequels in 8 years. Fucking fantastic. Also, it could just be me, but besides Toy Story 3 and Incredibles 2, none of their sequels/prequels made me excited as opposed to HTTYD2/3, even Croods 2 and Kung Fu Panda 3. That's very depressing. Also, anyone read about Catmull and Lasseter in cahoots with Dreamworks and Lucasfilm to suppress animation workers wages? Beacons of light? Fuck that. BourneFan #1
As long as the sequels are good, why does it matter? Cars 3 will suck but it pleases the heads of Disney.
Rorschach
Decline? They've had ups and downs but their films are undeniably profitable nonetheless. This doesn't trouble me quite that much.
