One of my favorite movies - the impact of Vietnam at home.  All the actors are fantastic - Jane Fonda an Army wife who changes drastically while her husband is deployed, Jon Voight coming to terms with being paralyzed in the war & Bruce Dern whose dreams of being a hero are woefully misguided.  The ending gets me everytime - Voight speaking to high school seniors tearfully explaining why they shouldn't enlist & Dern walking into the ocean while Tim Buckley's song plays - cannot stop the tears!!

Rented this movie because I'm on a Vietnam kick and boy howdy did I enjoy it. Visceral in the same sense as Platoon but in a completely different way. Just brutal, but it never loses sight of the human heart at the center of the story. Excellent performances from all involved, too.
