Of course Jack Lemmon and James Garner don't nearly have the chemistry Lemmon and Matthau did, I still enjoyed this adventure road trip comedy, even if all the jokes didn't land.

I love this movie.  It was originally suppose to star Matthau but he caught pneumonia or something right before shooting.  Harmless anytime kind of movie.  Supporting cast is fun but this is all Garner and Lemmon.  I get that Lemmon and Matthau are considered magic, I found Garner's more dick attitude brought out some fun edge in both characters. Spot a young Michael Pena as one of the Mexican border jumpers.
