I hope it’s clear that that is a joking tone, but in all seriousness I am surprised and disappointed that the weekend #2 movie, which is a fairly conventional wide release, practically doesn’t exist for derby purposes

 

Especially when we have a 10th week of Scream making like 400k instead 😛

A decision I spent many many many minutes on making. I was |THIS| close to putting it in. I really hate including those bottom films that make <$1 mil. Drives me nuts.

I’m curious what the considerations were in either direction. It’s kind of the weekend’s main attraction but it’s not on this derby, the wokj derby, or the boxofficechamps wknd prediction game.    
 

Would it make sense to have any chatter the wknd prior about what movies we would like to see for the upcoming week?

Oh for sure, if anyone wants a specific movie, please do put it in the thread. I try to do as much research as I can into how a film is tracking, theater counts, etc. For me personally this was just an unknown. I hate to put in a film that would unfair to a majority of predictors.

Could break to myself, XXR, Wombi, or datpepper depending on how jackass and scream come in… still unreported, that is how small they are this weekend 😆

 

For next weekend I’d hope to see something like:

Lost City

Batman

RRR

Uncharted

JJK

Dog

NWH

X

Sing

Nile

 

I think that’s probably the top 10, barring a wild hold from Kashmir files or over performance from infinite storm.

Was just checking how I was doing. I'm not sure I'll land Jackass and Scream, but I'll enjoy my slim lead now while it lasts.
