Eric Prime
https://deadline.com/2022/11/box-office-wakanda-forever-strange-world-bones-and-all-timothee-chalamet-thanksgiving-1235180803/ Quote It’s not like people weren’t going to the cinema yesterday as we head toward Thanksgiving: Disney/Marvel Studios’ Black Panther: Wakanda Forever made $9.5M on Tuesday propelling the Ryan Coogler-directed sequel past the the three century mark with $303.7M, making it the 7th film to pass that threshold this year after Top Gun: Maverick, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Jurassic World: Dominion, Minions: The Rise of Gru, The Batman and Thor: Love and Thunder. Wakanda Forever‘s Tuesday, +36% over Monday, reps its third highest weekday (outside Friday) after its first Monday and Tuesday which respectively did $11.1M and $12.6M. Searchlight’s The Menu was second yesterday with $1.3M, +26% over Monday for a running five-day total of $11.3M at 3,211. While A24’s Midsommar –a good genre comp here for Menu– took a different trajectory, opening on a Wednesday in July, the Mark Mylod directed Anya Taylor Joy movie here is 4% of the Ari Aster movie in its first five days.
jedijake
Very good Tuesday for BP2! Should go up about 15% today to about $11 m. Then back to $9-9.5 for Thanksgiving day. Edited November 23, 2022 by jedijake

GOGODanca
Quote The soft initial numbers are bad news for “Strange World,” which carries a steep $180 million price tag. https://variety.com/2022/film/news/box-office-disney-strange-world-previews-disappointment-1235440770/
Sophie
The race between Chosen and Menu is so crazy!!! On Monday, they seemed to have found an extra half million for Chosen, and updated its weekend numbers. Then the Monday gross for Chosen completely closed the gap between Menu and Chosen. But now the Tuesday numbers put Chosen ahead by about 140K again. I'm chewing my fingers off watching this race, lolol.
Sophie
Now Box Office Pro seem to have effectively predicted for Chosen to once again pull ahead of the Menu. They seem to be expecting 2.3M across Wed and Thurs for Chosen and 1.7M across Wed and Thurs for Menu. Let's see how good their predictions wind up being. https://www.boxofficepro.com/thanksgiving-weekend-box-office-forecast-black-panther-wakanda-forever-set-to-hold-ground-against-strange-world-bones-and-all-devotion-and-the-fabelmans-while-glass-onion-could-surprise/
Sophie
Does anybody know what time of day yesterday's dailies usually come through?
Sophie
Wednesday daily shows Menu was above Chosen. I wonder if that's because Chosen lost a lot of theaters.
