  1. Looks like Sound of Freedom is going to make a play for 200 mill. Plus it's opening up in international markets now and maybe it'll make a play for $200 million overseas. Couldn't happen to a better film. That tiny 15 million budget with no marketing its going to turn a huge profit.
  2. Pretty sure this is not correct. Where is Indiana Jones and where is sound of freedom? They're both ahead of fast x and Indy is ahead of Creed.
  3. That hasn't been released here yet. And I've actually never even heard of it. So now you've got me very curious as to what this film is and why it made you so nervous.
  4. Because maybe horror fans don't think the movies are shit. Insidious obviously has a certain style to it and they figured out what their fans like. I myself did not particularly care for insidious 5 but the two people that I went to go see it with absolutely loved it. So take that for what it's worth.
  5. Well maybe I'm the only person in this thread who actually thinks this is pretty freaking awesome. I'm not a gamer, I've never played Gran Turismo but the story looks awesome and I like the cast. And I think this is going to be a pretty big hit.
  6. I saw spiral and I thought it was pretty much garbage. Chris Rock was just all wrong in my opinion. And the killer in it had no business being able to do anything that he did. This is Tobin Bell's franchise and whether they killed him off or not, they just find a way to bring him back which they did obviously. And now I'm excited to see it because he's in it and as many of you have mentioned the trailer is pretty damn awesome. On a side note I love Tobin bells story. He was never a star. He always had a small but fairly memorable roles in films like Mississippi burning, The Firm and Malice just to name a few. Then he does this low budget Sundance darling horror film, we don't even see him until the last few seconds of the movie. And it completely changes his life. Now his name and his face are synonymous with this franchise. It's one of the coolest success stories in Hollywood at least in my opinion.
  7. Maybe I was just in the right frame of mind or in the perfect mood or something but I really enjoyed this movie. I didn't really find it convoluted or hard to understand. There's a ghost who used to be a really bad man back in the day and he needs one more willing soul to die in order for him to come back to life. I enjoyed Lakeith Stanfield, Rosario Dawson and pretty much everybody else that was in the cast. Jamie Lee Curtis' small cameo was enjoyable as well. I didn't think it was anything outstanding and I probably wouldn't give it anything more than an eight out of 10 but I had a good time watching it, I thought the comedy was perfectly timed and the ending with the sort of ghost Battle Royale was pretty cool.
  8. I don't think those are celebrities. For historical figures no doubt but not celebrity in the context I think we're going for here.
  9. Not that I know your taste in film but I really enjoyed it. There's a lot of comedy in it too and there's some really good stories and sub plots and so on.
  10. I've just never let the special effects of the time bother me when you watch it in modern times. Special effects are nice because they bring things to life that you couldn't otherwise do but it's never something I look at and go oh my God that's so terrible. We all know damn well that when we first sat our asses down in the theater and watched it we were in awe of everything. And when you have a story and characters and a script like Lord of the rings the special effects is the very last thing I pay attention to. I think people who sit down 20 years later and bitch and complain that the special effects don't look right or in the case of my favorite movie, the shark looks fake. Jaws was 50 years ago LOL there was no special effects. And Lord of the rings, I, like many of you here watch it at least once every couple of years and it's still as engaging and awesome as it was 20 years ago.
  11. Heres a completely random thought but every once in a while we talk about movies with terrific ensemble casts. Well check this one out Robert DeNiro Stallone Peter Berg Cathy Moriarty Harvey Keitel Ray Liotta Anabella Sciorra Edie Falco Janeane Garrafalo Noah Emmerich That's the cast for Copland and in my opinion it's such a terrific movie and the performances by pretty much everybody are out of this world especially from Ray Liotta and Stallone of course. It's a bit of a slow burn and obviously a huge departure from what Stallone usually did and if anybody here hasn't seen it and is looking for a fantastic movie with an All-Star cast I'd highly recommend it.
  12. Well sound of freedom has a different kind of audience. And a word of mouth spreads in other countries like it has over here in Canada and the US, then it probably won't matter what films it's going up against.
  13. Expectations from who? The members of this site? Why would anybody think Avatar 2 would do 3 billion dollars LMFAO. We're just coming out of a pandemic and movie going levels are not nearly what they used to be. I will talk to did not underperform. You can't say a film that does 2 billion dollars is underperforming.
  14. Neither do I and I think Eric should have warning points given to him for that post. I don't know what the post means so it's offensive to me. Two points to eric. Watch it buddy cancel that kind of attitude or I'll cancel you
  15. I think it's one of the more impressive runs of the season. No way anybody thought this would get anything close to 90 million.
