  1. Underrated means for you whatever you want it to mean. For me, I think of critic reviews. If they're trending negative but the movie is actually very good..that film is underrated. Hobbit comes to mind. WOM is a factor as well although that's more difficult for me to gauge. Gladiator is an example of an overrated movie whose WOM, I feel, is better than the film.

  2. It's depressing seeing TDKR on so many peoples list. TA I can stand but TDKR, for some reason I don't want it to be true. I have been in denial when it comes to TDKR. It is a great movie but not "slightly below TDK" as I led myself to believe. It's slightly better than Begins. Again, a great movie but a little below expectations. I wouldn't put it on my list of most overrated films but I think it is overrated to some extent.

  4. The Hunger GamesTedThe Dark Knight RisesAll decent movies but nothing special and really flawed. As far as critics' reviews go Killing Them Softly and Seven Psychopaths. I really wanted to like them but i couldn't.

that's interesting. i really wanted to see Killing Them Softly and 7 Psychopaths.
  5. You need to pick someone who at least looks reasonably similar to Mark Hamill wth the aid of makeup.Second, you need to pick an appropriate age depending on how far after ROTJ the sequel takes place. Let's say 5-10 years, which would make Luke 28-33.Based on those two critera, you can exclude JGL (looks), Hutcherson (too young, looks), Yelchin (looks, too young), Hemsworth (looks, too young), Pettyfer (too young), Johnson (too young), Franco (looks).Only Gosling and Hedlund are the right age and generally similar hair/facial structure, with Hedlund having a more similar rounded face.

At first I was confused about why the choices were all young actors. I just assumed it would be Mark Hamill. That's been the consensus pick since 2005. But you make a good point. Luke wasn't that old in ROTJ and if Episode 7 starts just a few years later then he'll still be under 40. Wow, that revelation hit like an ounce of bricks. I very much would like to see Mark reprise his role, even if it means 30 years have passed since ROTJ.
  6. I wouldn't say most people hated it. Its just that the reaction to it is extremely polarizing. The people that liked either seem to think its good or the second coming of scifi christ genre saver whie and the people hated it want everyone associated with killed by Jason Voorhees.

    I'm confused. :P

Nice list but is Silver Linings Playbook underrated? I mean it hasn't achieved a level of attention on these boards that we refer to it as SLP :) but I'd argue that it is getting the attention it supposedly deserves. I plan to see it next month.
