Ronan 2.0 from The Marvels is one of the clearest signs that Marvel Studios no longer cares.
I mean I would blame the writers' strike but that was after the Marvels finished preproduction I think.
Speaking of YA remember Mockingjay Pt 2 floppage and how Divergent 3 never came out?
It looks like it'll take more than that to kill the superhero genre.
That's never going to happen.
Look at the Toy Story 3.
And Logan.
No matter how good the ending Hollywood will unbury a franchise and Weekend At Bernie's the corpse.
I think the baton could've been passed down if the Marvel movies after phase 3 were actually, ya know, good.
The problem is they rested on their laurels and have been running on fumes since Black Widow.
Cinematic Universes are fun when you build towards something and the journey is filled with crowd pleasers that lead to a grand conclusion not just empty filler that leads to nowhere.

Just came out the movie. I thoroughly enjoyed the world building.
I have no idea why people dislike it. It's a solid movie that asks what it might be like if one nation or continent developed insidious AI and another developed benevolent AI. That's best case scenario humanity facing yet people are focused on "bad acting" or "overrated special effects".
It's a shame people can't even discuss the themes to this movie. Too distracted by the execution which was perfectly serviceable.
This movie is a mix of The Golden Child, Elysium and Spielberg's A.I.. which was worth the 12 bucks imo.
The hate this movie is getting is surreal to me. I expected way worse. Maybe people don't like the message. Well then come out and say that.
