  1. Well there were literal neo nazis protesting Disney alongside DeSantis supporters so lets not play the both sides game. Hitler and the Nazis weren't woke in any sense. They were the complete opposite. Obviously.
  2. Nope not joking. There's currently boycotts against Disney. And conservatives are embracing the far right these days, so I'm not sure why number 5 would be considered so crazy.
  3. Indiana Jones had a ton of things going against it. 1) 80 year old action star 2) Green screen 3) Aging fanbase 4) Last movie was considered low point 5) Disney releasing a movie where Nazis are the baddies is probably considered "woke" 6) June is still a bloodbath due to being overcrowded 7) Picky audiences (especially boomers and gen X) 😎 Anti-buzz from Cannes. It was doomed.
  4. I think some of us are forgetting how much people hated Crystal Skull. South Park did an entire episode about it.
  5. IP's are life blood of Hollywood for a reason. How many small to mid sized movies need to break out to produce as much revenue as the Despicable Me/Minions series?
  6. Do recent Hollywood execs even know how to produce non-IP movies and non-sequels? The old guard is probably mostly retired.
  7. So an analyst said that Disney lost 900m from their last 11 movies and it kinda went viral. What do ya'll think?
  8. There seems to be a twenty year window where nostalgia is effective. Keaton and Indy fell flat. It's possible certain geek franchises have audiences who age out after a while. I think once your kids graduate high school you stop caring about some of this stuff.
  9. I'm willing to bet Barbie is front loaded. It's hyped up like a YA or superhero sequel.
  10. Did you say Mario had a bigger impact on black little girls than The Little Mermaid?
