  2. Heh, yeah. I wonder how many people commenting actually went and read it.

I lost interest after the article stated: Except Cruise never jumps on a couch.  when the picture at the top of the article clearly shows he is.  And The Internet told us Tom Cruise killed Oprah. The truth is the Internet tried to kill him.

The article is doing the same thing that they accuse 'the internet' of doing.  Dramatizing and exaggerating the 'events' that have happened to Cruise.

    Cruise is not destroyed.

    He career is not ruined.

No one really believes Oprah was scared of him that day

It's a puff piece trying to make us feel sorry for Cruise.

The real or imagined events such as what happened on Oprah do not hurt Cruise... it keeps an aging actor in the public eye.  If the author is correct that people still talk/care about it then Cruise succeeded in what he was trying to do... draw attention to himself.

If anyone really thinks what Cruise... or any actor... does on shows like Oprah are spontaneous... then I got some land in Arizona I'll sell you that will be valuable once Tele and his state drops into the ocean.

Actors (and most public figures) always walk a thin line of doing anything they can to stay in the public eye and relevant while trying to avoid crossing the line where to public will rebel against them.

Actors, and more importantly their 'people', love youtube and all the social media.  There is a reason for the saying... any publicity is good publicity.

  3. Sorry to be blunt, but what are you actually smoking? There is no way Frozen gets to $1B OS. Like no way. Ever. That would mean almost $400m in Japan. I can see $900m possibly happening but $1B just no.

The only thing that has stopped Frozen is the DVD release.  I think it would have had a good chance at #1 DOM if the release wouldn't have been so early.

Japan's DVD release won't be til forever so I'd never bet against Frozen hitting a number no matter how impossible it seems.

  4. What was the joke?

    It wasn't much of one.

tele said CA and heat and what popped in my mind was fires, barbecue and grilling and I posted something that was more gibberish then humorous.

I try to save the random free flowing gibberish posts for late at night when both me and half the forum readers have been drinking.

  5. Not you Andy, lol.

    Naw... unrelated.

I made a joke about CA and the heat but decided it was a little insensitive since the fires there are really bad.

However... if I thought my post was funny enough to garner at least 2 likes I would have kept it up and screw being sensitive.

  6. High B+ for me. Loved the pacing and style and overall attitude of the movie, I thought it was pretty much perfect in that regard. It's let down a bit because of the flat characters (and actors, to some degree); that's what knocks it down a peg or two from being an all-time classic. I generally don't like ATJ at all, so actually I didn't think he was horrible (simply because my expectations were so low). But he doesn't stand out at all. Elizabeth Olsen is wasted... the movie would've been better and more interesting merely by switching her and ATJ (you'd get a heroine, which is more interesting for this sort of thing, and she's a better actor than him too.)

Overall, though, I was tremendously entertained. I wish more summer movies were like this.

Why write a review when Tele said just about everything I wanted to.

I rate it a bit higher... likely because I didn't expect much from the characters.  Better character development would have made it a classic.

    I'll see it again.

I can't wait for the bluray because I think some scenes that would have tied the characters stories together better were cut.

  7. Who do I go to to report abusing of mod powers over here?

    You don't.

Never complain to 'The Man' about people 'The Man' chose to represent him.

Instead, you post GIFs making fun of them... or better yet, the directors/movies they love.  It has to be humorous enough that at least 1 person likes it.  Mods are almost human... they want to fit in and if at least one BoxOffice noob likes your GIF they will also just to show that they are almost one of us.

It also helps to suck up to 1 or 2 of them.  That way when they go to their double-secret, handshake required room to decide who to ban you have someone covering your back.  Just make sure it is only your back they are covering...

    CAWS

    MNO

    RIO

    13 OZ

    15 Bears

  9. 1. Mickey Mouse ( it all started with a mouse )

    2. Elsa ( Disney's most complex character )

    3. Tinker Bell ( represents all of Disney's magic )

    4. Maleficent ( Disney's top villain.  )

    5. Aladdin ( A little formatic but lead character in Disney's best movie )

    6. Goofy ( the most diverse of all the classic comic characters )

    7. Anna ( the Disney character that I'd most want to be friends with. )

    8. Stitch ( a unique character )

    9. Cinderella ( Best of the classic Princesses. All of them were pretty 1 dimensional )

    10. Pete ( Best comic villain.  I'm sorry Disney softened him on the Disney Channel )

    11. Mulan ( Toughest 'Princess' )

    12. Tiana ( Most self sufficient Princess )

    13. Donald Duck ( Iconic although I don't really like him )

    14. Dr. Facilier ( fantastic villain in the movie... wish Disney would use him more )

    15. Ralph ( very creative and complex character )

    16. Ariel

    17. Gaston

    18. Ursula

    19. Belle

    20. Rapunzel

    21. Hercules

    22. Hades

    23. Jafar

    24. Captain Hook

    25. Lilo

I didn't use and Wonderland or Pooh characters because they were so well established before Disney.

Genie probably should be up there but I feel it was all Robin Williams that made that character.
