France start is really good, yesterday france tv aired the first movie and the number were huge on tv ( the channel is very happy about the number ) and today , it's the best start of the year for Dragons 2 in Paris. It's now top 1 better day start. Now , on friday night, french will watch the WC game for sure.... I think it will affect one evening. The wenesday are very important day here for release, as important than the week end number. Famillies goes to theater on wenesday , that why our movies are released the wenesday 7520 spectateurs sur 22 copies. Rio 2 and x mean were released two months ago ( around that ) . It 's a comparison of first day start in Paris. Dragons 2 is the highest start of the year ( for now ) in Paris on it's first day at 2 pm, already that high

i went a second time today, tonight, this time at my local theater, i live in a small town , one hour from Paris ; the theater was full and i got a huge surprise at the end : the audience applaused! i'm used to audience applausing at the end of the movie but In Paris. It's the first time , i witnessed my local theater audience doing that! i was amazed. And this time, the kids were all fine too... It's an american problem.... The kids are really too fragile outthere.

it's really good ! i was a bit worry because today in Paris and in france the weather is amazing, and we were wondering, will people go to the theater with such a good weather outside? And well, the imax 3D at disney village was fuller than expect, a whole holiday camp full of kids came and the kids loved it. Not a kid was talking in the theater , it was impressive, all these kids being silent . I think american kids are too weak, because obviously french kids had absolutely no problem witth the movie!

Why are you all burying this movie for the Overseas, when mains markets aren't open yet?

There are a lot of countries where the movies isn't out yet, France, UK, germany, spain, china, korea, belgium, italy, netherland, hong kong, denmark, sweden,estonia, finland, lithuania , norway, new zealand etc

brazil loves Dragons 2 and I love Brazil!

I think it will do fine in France. The avant premiere where I went was crowded. The marketting is well done, and the movie opens the last day of fete du cinéma ( which means movies party ). I'd be surprised if it's underperformed here.

great news from Poland, I'm very proud and happy to see that toothless and Hiccup fly high in overseas , let's hope it will continue since a lot of market are not open yet for it.

i made a video for fun ( with crappy materials ) pacific trailer with Httyd 2. Only with clips from trailer and promotional clips. No spoilers. Loved both movies and since guillermo del toro made one suggestion for httyd2 and there is a quote from pacific rim ( adapted to httyd 2) i thought why not lol

Glad to hear, I'm so happy to see , good results for it overseas! I'm very confident for France as well because httyd 2 opens at the movies "party " day here. Which means a lot of people are going to theater that day and then if the french likes it , a lot more of word of mouth!

At least overseas markets know HTTYD 2 is a must watch movie. And it didn't open everywhere yet. Let's pray it will continue.

It's true, muscial movies are guaranteed to be a flop in France + the fact how we are heavily suspicious when an american movie adapts something that belongs to french ( book, history ).

the OS number will be interesting to follow and also because not all countries as the same rating for the movie. pg 13 in US for example , in France, no pg13 for this one.
