  1. btw, i just checked and frozen has EXACTLY the same imdb and rt scores as tangled, which makes its massive success in comparison look even stranger. i guess it was in the right place at the right time(and with the right marketing).
  2. it's basically a step down from tangled on all aspects. i don't understand how it broke out the way it did.
  3. the final trailer went right. it was spectacular in exactly the way os loves. giant robots, stadiums flying, people getting punched, all with a dash of humor. it made me completely change my mind about the movie, which i thought was gonna be a melodramatic flop.
  4. this was my first prediction on this forum and i had it at 91/110, beginners luck?
  5. well it's not bad. it's pretty much what i predicted(91/110) and i didn't feel like it would be a flop. most people predicted something similar too. it only seems unimpressive cause we hyped ourselves up. the way i see it: this is the best reviewed cbm yet among top critics. it has a huge increase of first class and wolverine, particularly os. singer is 3/4 for great x-men movies(counting first class which he produced). matthew vaughn is hopefully waiting in the wings to take on solo movies. the cast is amazing, and a new storm, cyclops, and jean are waiting to be cast, so it's only going to get better. overall i'm optimistic.
  6. yeah, i've heard criticisms before that wb is embarrassed by their own source material, this pretty much confirms it. goyer must go.
  7. is gaspard ulliel "hollywood"? i think he'd be great. honestly though i think tatum would do good, and the controversy only makes me more confident, see: anne hathaway, heath ledger, evan peters.
  8. X-3 followed X-2, which was well-liked, successful movie. i'm willing to bet age of apocalypse would top it.
  9. from what i've heard liz olsen was supposed to be a co-lead, but they cut her parts to focus on atj...
  10. the cast may be too big to give all mutants enough screentime. plus it's not like solo movies literally means solo movies, eg the gambit movie might feature deadpool(i don't know much about him tbh, but people love the guy so i'm optimistic) etc.
  11. the good: consistent laughs. strong climax. good character work for a comedy. efron and franco surprised me here. the bad: lags between the middle and the climax. some parts feel rushed and not believable. a couple of weird off color jokes they could've done without. this is not a feel good movie. the bad guys win. normally i wouldn't see it as bad, but it doesn't mesh well with light entertainment flicks. Overall: B-.
  12. I've disliked Wahlberg since watching his interview with Jake Hamilton: He may have cleaned up his act since he was a teen, but he's still an asshole at heart.
  13. Decent movie. More slice-of-life than rom-com. Not that funny, dramatic, or complicated, but it makes up for it with authenticity. Jake and Olivia were great, Ana was meh but I guess that's what the role called for. B
