  1. I know - hell, my OLS SPECTRE ticket cost £2 more than a ticket at the Empire would! Science Museum on the other hand was something like £15 for Interstellar... So basically if BFI aren't showing Star Wars in 70mm, just go to either the Empire or the Science Museum Also interesting note off Empire's site - seems like 26th to the 30th will be considered "previews"...
  2. To add to that - that listing MAY be a mistake - their phone booking team say it was never and still isn't listed, their Twitter team said they're looking into this. Because by comparison the 11:30pm isn't even half sold out. If the 8pm does become available, I'm refunding/selling off my OLS ticket, fingers crossed!!!!
  3. Holy crap, so the Empire Leicester Square IMAX DID seemingly add an 8pm showing on the 26th but it's now sold out...
  4. Wtf is going on with reviews lol. Highbrow critics hate it, movie blogs like HeyUGyys, Crave and Collider praise it....YA fatigue? Seriously, it's an enjoyable film though. And difference between this and Insurgent is probably heaven and earth so... Basically
  5. Yes. This is more big budget spectacle for sure, def not small scale as TMR First reviews: Variety (mixed) http://variety.com/2015/film/reviews/film-review-maze-runner-the-scorch-trials-1201586643/ THR (mixed) http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/movie/maze-runner-scorch-trials/review/820859 ComingSoon (mixed/neg) http://www.comingsoon.net/movies/reviews/479609-maze-runner-the-scorch-trials-review Crave (positive) http://www.craveonline.com/culture/898597-maze-runner-the-scorch-trials-review-truly-great-escape HeyUGuys (positive) http://www.heyuguys.com/the-maze-runner-scorch-trials-review/
  6. Extended thoughts/review. Much more enjoyable and better than the first. Bigger scale, awesome worldbuilding, surprisingly strong and satisfying story too. Only sorta complaint is that the first act was breakneck-fast but the pace smoothed out eventually. Cast was great in their roles, MVPs were Esposito and Salazar, CIA (Gillen) was really awesome but a tad underused. The Empire Strikes Back approach feels much fresher here, especially keeping first instalment in mind. SPOILERS: really liked the Act 3 set-up/twist with Teresa betraying them and the ESB-esque "bad guys (sorta) win" ending. Score was great, CoD: Zombies - Cranks Edition NEEDS to happen, and can't wait for the (un-split) finale! FYI - haven’t read the books, and not intending to to keep film experience fresh. From what I understand Wes changed a lot to make this a superior movie and that’s fantastic. The whole thing reminds me of the whole MJ1 situation - Francis would’ve achieved what Wes did here if MJ was one film. Faithfulness be damned. TST pretty much proves that. 8.5/10

  8. Fiiiine, since no one will open RTM....Extended thoughts/review. Much more enjoyable and better than the first. Bigger scale, awesome worldbuilding, surprisingly strong and satisfying story too. Cast was great in their roles, MVPs were Esposito and Salazar, CIA (Gillen) was really awesome but a tad underused. The Empire Strikes Back approach feels much fresher here, especially keeping first instalment in mind. Can't really say much more without spoilers. Score was great, CoD: Zombies - Cranks Edition NEEDS to happen, and can't wait for the (un-split) finale! 8.5/10
  9. Holy shit this was actually awesome. Much better and more enjoyable than first film, very Empire Strikes Back but still feels fresh. Can't wait to see where they go next. Now please open RTM - Kelli, CJohn, anyone? Need somewhere for thoughts lol P.S. also official request to change the title to The Scorch Trials
  10. Sam Smith confirmed: https://twitter.com/samsmithworld/status/640902432097091584
  11. Taking away all the evening screenings the first week is a pretty, as Frank Underwood would say, chicken shit move lol. Odeon could've stopped them for opening night at least, most corporate private screenings, at Leicester Sq for instance, are after Monday...alas, money speaks louder than words etc etc.
  12. I've spoken to Empire, the reason for no 8pm showing is because they're doing an "event associated with the premiere". I'd bet probably just an overflow premiere screening for press etc. that can't get into RAH. BFI IMAX on the other hand have had some company book out private screenings all week Monday-Friday at 8pm.
  13. Been 6 hours - BFI IMAX midnight and Odeon Leicester Square opening night shows nearly sold out...
  14. Yeah - I just pulled trigger on OLS (managed to nab a last decent seat just off to the side a bit of row U). The Empire booking office didn't know why the IMAX wasn't doing opening night but they game me an email for the cinema, so dropped them a line. If an 8pm show somehow miraculously happens, I'll try get OLS refunded or sell it to someone that'd want it.
  15. About to pull the trigger on Odeon too - neither of the IMAXes (the BFI nor the Empire) have 7:30/8pm opening night shows, only midnight. Spoke to BFI just now, some firm booked the theatre out for 8pm each day from Monday night until the 30th for private showings...Empire's office opens at 10, if 8pm for sure isn't happening there, OLS is happening.
  16. Title song out tomorrow: http://www.hitfix.com/motion-captured/exclusive-when-can-you-hear-the-new-james-bond-theme-song-for-yourself
  17. Think it's for the new album, and it's at AIR Studios - not Abbey Road which is where the Bond themes and scores are traditionally recorded. Also the title track has been done since early July, Mendes confirmed that in an interview a couple of weeks before the full trailer landed.
