  1. Reminder tickets go on sale tomorrow for the UK and Ireland, and Tuesday for the US and rest of the world.
  2. yfw a media/fan preview screening suddenly becomes the UK red carpet premiere o_O I'll keep you guys posted....and please have RTM open by Monday night plsthx
  3. The fact that Fox isn't trying to treat this franchise any differently in terms of marketing and public image because it happens to have a Twilight-esque "fandom" following that's typical of YA properties is a stroke of genius. I'm not seeing anything "typically" YA from Fox in the marketing and their decisions regarding the film - no pop artist soundtrack, no romantic pandering that's a total disconnect from the central story, no split of the third book - in short they're not perpetuating the "Twilight" stereotypes...they're making a YA film that's going against the grain of YA films, maybe that will help the genre not have as much stigma as it does. The first film's breakout and the fact that I'm seeing people who despise Twilight/Divergent (and even THG) excited for this is a good sign. On the other hand Lionsgate did damage to The Hunger Games from the beginning...quite a big disconnect between the films' public image and the end product. They're improving, but damage was already done. (And the film makers didn't actually intend for THG to be "YA" anyway)
  4. Seeing this Monday, will report back here what it's like. For the record - haven't read the books, enjoyed the first film, interested about where the story goes here.
  5. Sony Pictures Austra confirmed runtime as 147 minutes https://www.facebook.com/SonyPicturesAustria/photos/a.374841499141.156040.282045119141/10153122958779142/?type=1&comment_id=10153123003489142&offset=0&total_comments=12&comment_tracking={"tn"%3A"R"} There was a distributors screening of a version with unfinished effects earlier this week - reaction: http://www.mi6community.com/index.php?p=/discussion/comment/484922/#Comment_484922
  6. End of this month it seems. Craig's look is but the composition/overall design is
  7. Tickets go on sale in the United States on September 8 - hence the title song artist reveal. https://twitter.com/JamesBondRadio/status/639433310402428928
  8. Big announcement and the title song performer coming on the 8th. https://twitter.com/JamesBondRadio/status/639373993674469376 Also http://www.megaplex.at/film/spectre http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/JAMES-BOND-007-SPECTRE-Daniel-Craig-Camera-Crew-Jacket-In-Size-Medium-/321848517604?hash=item4aefaaa3e4&nma=true&si=seRogp20y7AEDjDGBlZgt%2Fw09so%3D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557 And the concept art from the same eBay guy's listings: Also - looks like BOTH the Empire IMAX Leicester Square and the Odeon Leicester Square will be playing the film. Both cinemas just answered my question on Twitter.
  9. I would've said Odeon was a given - but this press release landed today.... Not sure that the BFI will get the lasers for a while, at least not in time for SPECTRE. Anyway Empire and Odeon have until Monday to sort this mess out lol
  10. Good news: seems like the Empire Leicester Square IMAX will screen SPECTRE with the first-in-Europe IMAX laser projectors: http://www.liveforfilms.com/2015/09/02/imax-launches-a-new-laser-system-at-empire-leicester-square/ Slightly unsure if this will actually be the case since Odeon are already promoting that their Leicester Square theatre will show SPECTRE and there's that odd rule that only one cinema in Leicester Sq can show a film at a time but - if the Empire do show it, I think it's a no brainer that this is the best place to see the film on opening night in central London.
  11. I know you in essence shouldn't trust IMDB and whatnot but looks like on the SPECTRE boards there's a certain user in the know - blamed_thatcher. First noticed him back from when the theatrical trailer was announced, and he posted (correct!) details about it before its debut, and he knows quite a bit of stuff production wise regarding what was shot where, formats used etc. Couple of interesting things: 1. only the PTS in Mexico was shot with spherical lenses as opposed to anamorphic - and hence, if Mendes still goes ahead with this, it will be the only sequence that will open up to IMAX's 1.9:1 aspect ratio (he says they won't though). Also IMAX cameras probably weren't used because none of the UK film labs can process 70mm IMAX footage. 2. There will be a final trailer this month (September). http://www.imdb.com/user/ur15708178/boards/#history
  12. Showing at London Film Festival on October 14, 15 and 17. Tickets on sale September 17 https://whatson.bfi.org.uk/LFF/Online/default.asp?BOparam::WScontent::loadArticle::permalink=carol
  13. New interview with Craig http://www.esquire.co.uk/culture/film-tv/8782/daniel-craig-interview/
  14. Idk why I came up with this but the idea of Fox putting an IDR trailer with this would be hilarious. Also in case anyone cares, second trailer is obviously gonna be with Mockingjay, no way they're attaching to SPECTRE and The Night Before is rated R.
  15. Schumacher, slightly OT but thought I'd mention it given we were discussing this - got email that the Empire was getting upgraded to the 4K laser digital IMAX system in time for Everest. BFI will prob get upgraded too in time for SPECTRE.
  16. Just look up 5th Wave trailer on Twitter. Fans tweeting the hell out of it.
  17. The trailer leaked in high quality. So this is basically the Twilight version of all the Emmerich movies? Seriously though, I was a tiiiiny bit intrigued but not sold on the "YA alien invasion" premise of the book, this trailer basically made it look like Emmerich/M. Night disaster porn mashup with cliche YA elements, so, pass.
