  1. Reminder we may be getting the trailer in under 2 weeks.

same person who the Marketto guy got the date from also had the 17 March date for PIXELS trailer for a few weeks as well, according to Marketto.

As for all the 'public embarassment' over exaggerated shittiness reports, scripts, Mexicans asking for changes and so on...

read the December draft if you must

  2. If they change the script, people may not realize its Mexico being used as a setting.

I don't think this will be that much of a problem as I believe all these negotiations were before the latest leaked draft dated December 1 and all the changes mentioned in the WaPo article have already been made.

And they got it wrong - it's Marco Sciarra they're talking about that can't be Mexican, not Lucia

  3. New videoblog/featurette landing today:

The second video blog of the 24th James Bond movie "Spectre" will be aired Thursday on www.007.com to give a behind the scenes glimpse of the upcoming action thriller film.

Focusing on director Sam Mendes, the footage will feature Daniel Craig as James Bond along with his co-stars Ralph Fiennes, Naomie Harris and Ben Whishaw.

"The reason I'm doing the second Bond movie are the reasons I would do any movie, really, which is all to do with the story. And in this movie, 'Spectre', what you have is a movie entirely driven by Bond. He is on a mission from the very beginning," Mendes said in a statement.

Talking about Bond, Mendes further added: "It's about whether or not to pursue the life he's always pursued, whether he matters and is he going to continue or not."

The story of the film is about a cryptic message from Bond's past which sends him on a trail to uncover a sinister organisation. While M battles political forces to keep the secret service, MI6, alive, Bond peels back the layers of deceit to reveal the terrible truth behind the organisation Spectre.

In addition to the second video blog, a new photograph of Mendes will be available on the official site of "Spectre", which is slated to release Nov 6, 2015.

  4. Re: James creative control freak - you guys should read this interview and her justification:

    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/film/film-news/11405262/Fifty-Shades-of-Grey-author-EL-James-I-had-to-fight-for-a-lot-of-things-really-hard.html

When making the film, were you thinking about your readers, or about a new audience that perhaps hasn't read the book?

I was thinking about the readers. There are enough of them! (Laughter.) I mean hopefully we'll bring other people to it as well, of course; there are people who don't read at all. But my readers are the people I've always had in my mind. I understand the disappointment when key scenes are forgotten, or missing, so I was an advocate for them.

When shooting started, you said you were terrified.

Yes! Coming from fandom, I know what it's like when you're let down by certain things, and I just didn't want to do that. What I can say is, we got there in the end.

That ladies and gents is the difference between EL James writing the sequels and Flynn writing Gone Girl.

TL;DR - fuck Tumblr and crazy fangirl fandoms. And this is an issue that touches a lot of fandom fuelled book to film adaptations.
