True but it wont make the same as TA.
A tad more.

Age Of Ultron could more than double Avengers 1 in both South Korea and China. Those are significant increases for 2 of the larger international territories.
I highly doubt it will double it in SK.

Regardless, it's going to be a massive hit worldwide and Nolan will continue to make whatever he wants.
People saying it's a flop are wrong but it won't be a massive hit either, far from it. Unless it has super legs...

Because nothing is as big as the Avengers now.
Avengers is $1.5b big. The sequel won't change that. It won't come close to $2b.

IMO films should be making 1.5-2 billion now with all the market growth overseas.
But they ain't.

However Ellessar you really think marvel brand is not growing overseas?
You can't grow indefinitely. Avengers is close to the peak of what's possible for the franchise in my opinion.

I checked some numbers and yeah, it beat it in some markets but only barely, the exception might be South Korea (and obviously China). I don't believe that means AOU will increase a lot vis-à-vis the original, it's more of a sign of IM3 reaping the benefits of Avengers.

AOU might top $1b OS but won't go much further.

I was thinking more Avatar/Inception than Gravity/Prometheus.
Avatar/Inception? Why put those two together? One had twice the legs and over that the total.

Yes, I know, but 150 mill for an original film from anyone not named Cameron should be considered a great number. WW this still has a great chance at 600 mill.
With 150m domestic it's not going to make $450m overseas.

16.7m means a 14m Friday.
2.7m
14m Friday
18.2m Saturday (+30%)
13.1m (-28%)
48m
There's a good chance it goes sub-50m.
Forgot about it including thursday numbers. That's really.... underwhelming.

Unban Fishnets. Bring her back. Whatever crime she committed, she has served her time and should be allowed back.
Don't you dare!

Agree with Lordmandeep. TA2 can increase 150 million just in China.
Avengers is no Transformers. However, i agree that it will probably increase a lot given that it "only" made about 80m there.

Based on iM3 performance, there is a lot more growth in developing markets.
Give some numbers...

4000+ posts, you're getting there.
Probably 3000 were on Avatar and Hobbit.

Well, what the heck, man? You should've joined.
I know! I'm just not a very active forum member.

It's easy to see who predicted what for INTERSTELLAR. Just go to my club and look at the number of original members versus those who were out.
He was probably referring to me who isn't in (or out of) any clubs.

It's already a massive success in America and Asia. Not much room for growth. Europe won't do that much better plus the Euro is weak.

Am I the only one who thinks Age of Ultron won't do much more than the first one.
No. People are overpredicting it.

I thought you were talking about the OW. Maybe it was because of INCEPTION? I didn't expect that to make what it made.
But Inception had action and big set pieces.

What numbers?
Like 250m and higher. Even BOM and BO did.
I haven't completely ruled out those numbers but they seemed high for a hard sci-fi drama.
-
Why are people so surprised with Interstellar's numbers? It's a space drama, they have a very select audience. It's certainly not a film everyone flocks to.
Yet for some reason people predicted very high numbers...

Its been a while since i have seen the film but what was supposed to be going on in that scene?, its like she was just talking to some random guy for no reason.
Really? In light of being all alone in space it was about connecting with a human being.

Ditto. I was surprised seeing many here preferring CF but maybe the general public, many of whom haven't read the books, felt similarly to the two of us, which might explain MJ's box office results.
