If it doesn't beat TLK, it's a disappointment in my book.
-
Sorry to break it to you but you're telling stuff that i'm sure the majority here knows. Yes, it's probably going to have a good weekend relative to the OD, that's why nobody is predicting a weekend in the (high) teens. But that is beside the point.I am not going to explain it anymore. If you want to post here, then do some of your own thinking.
-
Cool. I hope you're right.I am. I'm expecting 3 movies over $30m TBH.
-
You really have no arguments, hence you are resorting to this kind of stuff.I'm giving up on you. Sorry, if you can't figure this stuff out without being spoonfed then I don't know what you want me to do? Maybe a picture book would help you understand it.
-
It's like talking to a brickwall.Answer me this, are you expecting this to do TLK's numbers on fri-sun?What a foreign concept.
-
There's nothing dense about feeling disappointed about a 5-day number that is in the ballpark of another re-release's 3-day number. If you adore it fine, but you can't judge a films box office success by the early numbers from a Wednesday. You can't be that dense.
-
But most likely it'll do less than TLK on the weekend. How is that not at least slightly disappointing?
-
What a GREAT comeback. Running out of arguments? Seriously, get your facts straight before putting your food in your mouth. I'm far from a hater, i frigging adore Titanic.
-
It's not like TLK was selling out all shows. Neither is Titanic, not even close. There are enough shows for a much bigger gross, the demand is not there.
-
I think it's self explanatory if this makes in 5 days what TLK made in 3.People are going to have to explain how $4.5m is in any way disappointing.
-
Why am i not surprised that they overestimated...$4.5m is pretty disappointing. It's Easter, weekdays are somewhat inflated and i doubt Titanic is gonna have legs this time.
-
John Carter did increase on its 1st Tuesday.Well, it's because this week is Easter. Even John Carter would've had jumped its first Tuesday had it been released this past weekend.
-
Probably he meant the returning cast, doing some brainstorming with them.
-
Nice report, Andy. Had a similar experience watching a preview screening 14 years ago. Titanic just takes hold of you and lingers long after you leave the theater. Phenomenal movie. Looking forward to revisit it (yet again).

Still, nothing to write home about.

Blasphemy!I hope The Hobbit has an interesting and compeling storyline.10 hours to get a fracking ring in lava !C'mon !!!!
-
It is guaranteed to be better than that crappy boy wizard. The Hobbit 1 will be lucky to be nearly as good as DH1.
-
I might be too low with 120% friday increase but i had the weekdays holding better.
-
No frigging way.190-220% is where it'll land imo. Hoping for the high end.
-
Personally, i think it has a good shot at $400m, $350m is the absolute worst case scenario.
-
Sorry we don't have a crystal ball to answer both questions.
-
It'll increase more than 29% on Saturday.
-
I think it'll jump like 120% on friday.
-
Well, like i said, i wasn't quite serious.Guessing you enjoyed it then. Glad it could meet those expectations
